Chapter 1 R.I.P.

"I don't think this is a good idea, Lily."

I kept telling my sister over and over again, as she dragged me into about 10 different shoppes. Literally 10. Ever since last year, Sophomore year, I have felt more insecure than anyone should ever feel. Why? Because the school's Ms. Popular, Kaylee, decided that it would be funny to send a picture of me with my braces on from 6th grade. I looked like the grudge. Ever since she sent that picture everyone started calling me the grudge.

"C'mon Miranda! I have waited for 4 years to do this whole shenanigan!" "What are you trying to say?" I was hurt that even my sister thought the same as what everyone else did. "What? No! You got your braces 4 years ago, when you got them, you got even more boring." She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

I nodded my head, my arms were getting tired. I was holding about 8 bags in each hand and my sister probably had about 10 in each. She said that she was going to throw all my other clothes away after buying me some new clothes.

"Okay! We're here!" She beamed proudly at me. I looked up to the sign.

Patricia's Famous Salon And Spa

"No! No, no, no, no, no!" I said, backing away slowly.

"No! You are not backing out now. We are going to make you the hottest babe in North Miami Beach High School. I promise! Trust me." She dragged me into the salon. As the lady pulled me into the chair, she started doing my toes. I took that time to look in the mirror ahead of me. Taking in my long brown wavy hair and my dark green eyes. My eyes are the only thing I like about myself. They are like a deep olive colour.

"Alright, we are going to put a blindfold on you, okay?" I heard my sister ask. I nodded my head and she handed me my headphones to plug into my white iPhone5. I took the head phones and put them into my ears. Lily quickly took a picture, I looked at her, confusion written on my face. "For old time's sake and also we can compare the look difference." I nodded my head a she pulled the blindfold over my eyes.

I drowned myself out with the whole album of The Script : Science & Faith.

Someone tapped on my shoulder and I pulled out my head phones. "Yes?" I asked aloud. "Okay, we are going to take the blindfold off. And before you say or do anything, I just wanted to say. If I was a guy..." Lily cleared her throat and faked a guy voice, "Can I holla at you mama? Like, can I get them digits?!" She yelled and we both started laughing. I could just imagine her nose all scrunched up whenever she mocks someone.

"Okay, now can I take this stupid thing off from over my eyes!" I squeled, ready to see if my sister could make me look as beautiful as her.

My sister has long, light brown, straight hair with vibrant green eyes. She is now a freshman, taking law at U.N.I. My sister was the one that everyone thought was always beautiful, and she really is. But when I became a freshman in high school and she left for college, people always used to ask me. How is your sister so pretty and you aren't? And my answer was always I don't know. How did she get the beauty and I got poop? I really need this makeover to work.

Lily took the blindfold off and stared at me with even more awe. I quickly jumped out of the seat I had been moved to after the lady finished my toes. I practically ran to the full length mirror and glanced over myself. That's not me, where am I? The girl in the mirror had glassy looking olive green eyes with dark brown hair, with different light brown highlights. The girl in the mirror was breath taking, but I knew it couldn't be me.

"It is you Randi. You are now as beautiful on the outside as you are in the inside." She smiled at me.

"Thanks, for everything." "What are sisters for?" I hugged her and went to get my bags.
