She's still staring at me and I'm holding my breath. I have a strong desire to pull her to me and fold my arms around her. To bury my nose into her neck and be able to breathe in her scent from her skin again. I want to kiss her eyes, her nose and cheeks.
I know she is not ready for this.
Before she can give me any reply, we are interrupted. Seems some things never change. JJ is running towards us.
"Sanem... Did you not notice the time?" He puts his hand in hers and she goes with him willingly.
I remember a time when I had that power too. I feel jealous and sad. JJ looks over to me and gestures for me to follow.
They walk ahead and I view her from behind. She looks good and we certainly haven't lost any attraction for each other and if anything, it's intensified. Her hair is longer, fuller and curls slightly. She's sun kissed and looks like a Bohemian Gypsy in her long wrap skirt and blouse. Wild and free.
However, what's going on inside is another matter.

I had to get away to reflect and be with my him. He returned for more treatment in Turkey and I continued on the high seas alone...until I got the message and I set a course back to Istanbul.
I've learnt from my father that she's on prescribed medication and that JJ and Muzzo live with her and look after her. He's been visiting and they have been comforting one another. She has trouble sleeping. Nightmares... Especially during storms and rainy nights.
Since my father's arrival things have got better. Being around him has helped her.
I hope I'm not being too arrogant when I feel that being with him gave her the feeling of being close to me...
I know I will have to answer for my actions and that she's the way she is, because of me. A heaviness settles in my stomach.
We return to her house. I'm impressed. She wrote her book and it was an international success. I'm so proud of her...
My father is resting but it’s time for his tablets and Sanem has a routine in place for this. A hot drink and pillows fluffed up then she reads to him before she takes her own medication. They sometimes fall asleep together. I watch her concern for him. We lock eyes, a few times.
