I was in a Dystopian society where mind control was administered through food, speeches, and the national anthem. I didn't hear the national anthem in my dream, but hearing people singing other songs broke the control.
My friends and I were part of a choir resistance who would infiltrate the gatherings, then begin to sing, breaking the control. My frinds and I were in the middle of a heist, when we were stopped before entering a building. One person asked something along the lines of, "Aren't these the group that keep breaking the Silence." The Silence seemed to be what they called the mind control.
My friends broke into a sprint away, leaving me to face the people alone."Looks like you are alone." Another guy said. "Aren't you little Silence breaker?"
I forced myself to keep a blank face. "Those cowards?" I allowed myself a small chuckle.
After a pause the man turned to his buddies, "Looks like she has been turned back."
I prayed my friends would be able to return soon. If not, I would be turned into a mindless follower. I could never sing loud enough by myself to break the Silence before they just turn on the national anthem.
After wandering the place, trying to blend in and find my friends, I was offered some food. I tried to politely declince, as to not draw attention to myself, the woman who offered it turned angry.
"Eat it! I insist."
I ate it, praying my friends would arrive soon, and I became dizzy. Before it took full affect, I focused on a random song in my mind. It worked partially. I was unaware of many things I was doing, but I could still control a few things. My vision was blurred around the edges.
I moved in a trance until my friends entered, singing at the top of their lungs.
It was all I neede to break the spell I was under, leap up, and join them. Many other people began to break from the Silence as we sang louder and as a group.
