Chapter 4

The Bloody Thumb

Levi POV
I was walking down the halls of school. I was tired as fuck because I ended up staying up all night reading and petting Maria. But whatever, I didn't like sleeping anyways, I always got nightmares. My thoughts were disrupted by someone slamming into my chest, well, I slammed into their chest. I was almost nocked over in fact, the person that hit me was running so when he hit me he hit me with force.

"Shit sorry!" I heard a familiar voice shout, I turned around and saw a tall boy wearing a burgundy hoodie running with a can in his hand. Then when I turned back around I saw three boys running towards me, I raised my head and glared at them. They stopped and stared at me with fear in their eyes.

I had beaten the three up when they threatened to take my money, and ever since, they steered clear of me. They turned around and sulked off, mumbling to themselves. I huffed and turned away. I continued to walk the halls until a annoying ring was heard.

I made my way to class. It was fifth period so it was English. I didn't mind English that much, we did it in the Library since our teacher was the Librarian, Mr. Shadis. He also taught French and German too. I walked into class and took my seat. My desk was next too a window in a corner. I looked around the classroom and stopped when my eyes spotted a burgundy hoodie owner, the brat. He was sitting with his friends, the coconut looked pissed at him, his face was wet too.

I turned and took out my book, I was ahead in this class so Mr. Shadis didn't really care what I did so I usually just read my book. And me being one of his favorite students didn't hurt either, he seemed to like the kids who were quiet and did their work respectfully.
I heard the teacher start talking but I continued to read. Many times during the class I almost fell asleep due to exhaustion. Soon the class was over, so I got up and walked to Art class.

I was the first to enter the class, I went up to Mr. Pixis and quickly asked "Can I go outside to work on my project with Eren?" he nodded so I walked to the door and waited for my partner, I yawned.

When I finally saw him I said "Oi brat, we're going to work outside"

"Oh, o-okay" he stuttered, he turned around and said goodbye to his friends. I started to walk down the hallway, since the Art room was on the second floor I went down the stairs. I heard Eren following me. I was soon at the entrance of the school. I opened the doors and walked outside.

"So, um... where a-are we g-going?" Brat asked me

"The forest to find a stump"

"O-oh, I see"

"Yeah" I replied. My hands were stuffed in my pockets of my hoodie and my head was facing the ground, I closed my eyes for a few seconds before opening them up again. I was really fucking tired, not only did I not sleep last night, but I also didn't the night before and the night before that. The whole 'no-sleep' thing was finally getting to me.

Eren jogged to catch up to me, his hood still over his eyes. I wonder why he always had the hood like that, whatever, it's not my problem.

My head bobbed downwards, I didn't close my eyes though, because I knew if I did I would've fallen asleep right there

"H-hey, um, y-you don't l-look so good" I looked over at Eren, he was looking towards me, his lips slightly curved downwards. I scoffed

"Tch, I'm fine brat"

"O-okay... sure" I could hear something in his voice, worry maybe? Tch, whatever. When we reached the forest we started to look for stumps.

"Oi, what about this one, it's dry enough to carve" I pointed at a stump
