"Sorry Ochako I just don't feel the same."

Those words kept repeating in her head with every aimless step back home. The rain poured down like the sea of  emotion that she was lost in. Her eyes were colder than ice, a glossy wave of tears covering them. No longer than five minutes ago she had poured her heart out to the man she thought she loved, Deku, that name stung her heart like an angry wasp. The world seemed gray, lonely, and heartless.

As she made her way inside the girls dorm room she made sure to wipe the rivers of tears off her face, and put on a fake smile that would fool even the smartest of detectives. She greeted her freinds the in the common room while were all gathered and eating supper. She had already eaten at the cafe where she decided to confess, but even without that fact she still wasn't hungry. She was too empty to feel anything. She quickly ran up to her room, and plopped on the bed like a dead fish and let out the typhoon of feelings inside her. She checked her outdated flip phone and saw the millions of missed calls from a familiar friend.

"Shoot! I completely forgot about me and Tenya's study session!!", Ochako was recently falling behind in math and had asked him for help. Tenya was an outstanding student while he was also a spectacular friend. She quickly called back, and hoped she could compress her emotions for just a minute to make this call. She loved Iida, as a friend, but she couldn't handle math right now. Her emotions were like small eggs that were all being smashed with hammers.

Ring...Ring....

"Hello?" A soothing voice said from over the phone, Tenya had the vocie of a father. It was welcoming and kind, and when you heard it you knew your were safe.

"Hi! I'm so so so sorry!! I got um,  caught up with something.". She teared up agian while feeling the bubbling emotion boil up inside her. It felt like a tea kettle ready to hiss, no to scream, it had to release the steam that rose from the heat.

Tenya sighed, "It's really fine Ochako, I promise!" She could feel his causal, warm smile from across the line.

They talked for a little bit, discussing when to plan another study session, since clearly she wasn't in the mood. She tried her best to make the conversation short, but she was a talker and couldn't help but talk on and on. Tenya had been her friend for a couple years now and couldn't help but notice the small tinge of change in her usual optimistic tone.

"Hey Ochako, are you okay?" He interrupted her in the middle of one of her endless sentences. She endend her thought abruptly, like a car wheeling to a stop. "Yea I'm fine!" She lied in her best 'I'm totally fine and nothing isn't wrong' vocie. Like that would work when you have a friend like Iida. "So its completely okay that I come over now to study, we do have that math test!" He said with a hint of sarcasm that couldn't go unnoticed. She sighed in defeat, "Fine you got me!" She huffed, and suddenly the tears overflowed their tub. She started sobbing, spilling every single cluttered, crammed emotiom out. Telling the whole story. The other person on the line stayed silent letting the flood wash over them, taking in every drop and thinking about a way he could help.

In a few minutes Ochako heard the sound if someone hanging up the phone, had she scared him with this sudden break of emotion. Then as if on instinct.

Knock Knock

"Ochako open up!! You need a friend to be here during this time of suffering!!"  There it was. That familiar, fatherly vocie she was warmed by so much.

Temporarily the pain went away...
