We live by the huge tree in the middle of the marsh land. My Master, his Spouse and the little one.
Covered from head to toe in long strands of green moss. The long vines curled in-between each other. Standing next to him he was three times my size. His low tone called out to me when ever we ventured from the big tree.
His spouse has dandy lions sticking out of the purple moss that flowed from her head too. She was shorter then he was and her vines where thinner and woven tighter together making her narrow in stature.
When they stood in each others embrace purple moss collided with green moss. Green moss would all ways overlap purple moss. They stood by the tall tree for hours like that.
Little one was just that, little. He or she was a mushed ball of fluffy wet moss. I had a hard time recognizing him/her from the debris around the base of the tree. If it wasn't for the bubbles and gurgles I would never known the difference.
The Master and his spouse took turns feeding it. Bring back the white fluffs that danced over the marsh land, eating them normally by filtering them out though the long green stands of vines that covered their forms. They would circulate the food not ingesting it. When they came back to the small moss pile, known as little one they would let the small pieces of white fluff that had become wet enough to slide down to the ground. As the wet pieces slid down there vines the little one would circle his wet form around his/her parents vines to suckle at the white fuzz.
I find there diet odd. Though, I am sure they find my lunging out at the green crouching creatures that wait on the lily pads to poke out pink tongs at flies strange too. They are so yummy.
I have a spot that I love to lay. It is between two long roots that wrap around themselves like two giant arms. My green moss body feels warm tucked in between them.
Many nights spent looking at the two moons of the deep blue sky from my spot.
-
The night came when the lights flickered. I was laying asleep between the arms of the tree when I was startled. It was unlike the blueish light from the moons. This was yellow and sickly. It poked out of leaves and accompanied by the snapping of twigs and the bending of branches. The flickering of these lights was unlike anything I ever seen and I stood right up.
My low growl filled the air. The green moss stuck on my back grew yellow and dried out. The long spikes poked out , red and ready.
The lights came closer. A form dressed in white was behind it. It held its hand.
I flared my spikes. A whooshing sound followed by a thud. Something hit my tender red flesh. The moss, my armor was dry and useless. The yellow lights faded. A blackness and dozy feeling followed.
-
They shoved me in a large white container. My protective moss covering was slowly returning.
All I could hear from the pinkish meaty creatures was "They have dogs made of moss."
The area that I found myself was covered by white walls and huge boxes that where shinny and had long sticks and roots poking out of them.
These creatures with huge boxes on there heads that was behind clear water where hurrying from one side of the room to the other. The creatures never stopped unless they glared deeply at my body. They reached in with sticks to poke my red swollen under body.
My thought now rough and raw from the low growl, constantly calling out to my Master, my world.
I could not stand. My legs felt like boulders. A tall creature pressed a stick between my legs. I left out a long howl. I herd high pins that came from the greenish screens with tiny dots dancing about.
"What, the.." one of the creatures said before the white harsh light blinked once before fading to pitch blackness.
A harsh scrapping sound echoed through out the container I was in. Familiar gurgles and whipping of water hitting surfaces surrounded me. Followed by high pitch screams. Small sounds of gusts of air like the sound of puffy mushrooms exploding into vapor. This was followed by silence.
-
I returned to the tree and slept between the two big roots. The blue lights shinned on my back at night. The yellow light would never again creep behind me.
