"What's next on the list, your majesty?" I asked him.
"Why don't go down to the kitchen and get a snack. While we are there we can have the chef get dinner started," The king said.
"Isn't it a bit early for dinner?"
"Yes, but by the time they finish, it will be time to eat," he answered.
We snacked on some fruit as we went over the meal for dinner. Everything sounded so tasty and I was very excited for dinner.
"Since we have all that figured out, I am going to head up to my room and wash up," I said to the king.
"I will see you later at dinner, Jessica." The king smiled.
I walked out of the kitchen and down the hall towards my room. I decided to take the long way around to give myself some time to think about today's experience. I went down a few hallways and down a corridor, when in the distance I could hear yelling.
"How dare you talk to the Red King that way!" a man said.
"That's coming from the dungeon." I walked down more and came up to the archway that took me to the room I so despised. I walked down the stairs feeling a chill up my back, remembering the events that brought my down here last time.
"I'm sorry. My family is homeless now. I was upset. I'm sorry." Its sounded like the man from the town.
I stood by the doorway not going into the dungeon so i was not to be spotted.
"The Red King will have your head for this. Did you think you were going to get away with this so easy?"
I peeked through the crack in the door to see the guard that the king whispered to.
"No, I mean Yes. I don't know. The king is not usually so nice. I thought his new friend had changed the king for the better," the townsman said fearful for his life.
"The king is just keeping her by his side until he can figure out what she is up to. She has been a pain since she got here," the guard said.
"Are you serious," I whispered to myself.
I climbed back up the stairs and headed to my room to wash up for dinner with the king.
"That's it! I'm finishing my plans tonight!" I stood in the middle of my room trying to calm myself down. I knew if I went to dinner and went off, I would be in the cell next to the townsman.
After a few minutes there was a knock on the door. "Come in", I said.
"Good evening Jessica." It was Olly. She walked into the room in a salmon colored dress, with white cherry blossom flowers on it.
"Look you so cute today. What's the special occasion?" I asked her.
Olly smiled then said, "The King has invited us to dinner with you."
"Us? Who's US?" I asked confused.
"The Royal Court and all his advisors. After we are going to have a ball." She informed me.
"A ball? I wasn't aware of a ball."
"That's why I am here. The king wanted me to let you know. I even have a dress for you to wear for the ball" Olly walked back out of the room, when she returned she has a fitted shimmering red dress with designs going down and matching red heels with a crystal design.
"Oh my goodness, Olly, that dress is beautiful." I was stunned and speechless.
"It is. The King would like you to wear it to dinner. We will be in a special dining hall tonight."
