The day I had been dreading finally arrived. Monday. The day of hell that comes back every 6 days. I reached out, grabbed my alarm clock- which was blaring into my ear-, and yeeted it as far as humanly possible. It crashed into the wall, but didn't turn off.

Someone's in a bad mood.

"Huh...? Oh, yeah. You." I groaned, still groggy.

Feed me. I want a hot pocket.

"I'm not hungry though-"

HUMAN, I HUNGER! GIVE ME THE CONSUMABLES!

"Okay, fine. Just shut the fuck up."

NOW.

"OKAY." I climb from the warm, cozy sanctuary of my bed. Lucifer, our cat, whom I had named, followed me down the stairs. "Can I go back to bed after this?" I questioned the symbiote. "I don't want to put up with Marvin's bullshit today."

Humans need education.

"They don't need symbiotes either." I retorted, setting the pepperoni pizza Hot Pocket in the microwave.

FEED ME HUMAN.

"I'm working on it." I groaned. "Stop being annoying."

Eat you're liver? I comply.

"You need a host."

......

Touché.

"Thought so." I said, pulling out the steaming hot pocket.  Bad idea. I yelped and threw it onto the marble counter, my hand in a burning pain.

EAT IT.

"THAT MOTHERFUCKER IS TOO HOT!" I yelled. After waiting for a bit, I pick it up and take a bite.

Yes.

"Freshly microwaved."

I go upstairs and change into a clean shirt and pants. With a smile, I pulled the hoodie over myself. It was baggier, considering I was losing weight. Not by choice. I just haven't felt hungry lately. I stuffed my computer into my bag and leave, jogging down the sidewalk. A mob of kids stood in front of the entrance waiting for the bell. Marvin and his crew were at the far end of the crowd. Good. I sat on the curb and watched busses pull up. The bell rang, and everyone filed into the building.

My 13th birthday was right around the corner. School was out for summer, and for that I was grateful. I'd gotten to know Onyx better, and had visited Eddie Brock a couple times. I was ready to try out a transformation.

I opened the door and yelled, "I'M HOME!" At the top of my lungs.
