Cycle 19
Chapter 1: Maybe the Invaders Can Help
Very few people know the truth. The information was only shared with members. Only those that were on the inside of the cycle themselves were able to be in on the secret. It was only able to be understood by those who had experienced the resets themselves. Those on the out side would be unable to understand the truth. Only if you were part of it was it able to be comprehended.
The members came together to make sure that the secret was kept. Meetings were held which only members of the cycle were in attendance. The members put their lives on hold. They took time off from work. They all converged for a single purpose.
Over time as the cycles continued to reset the numbers grew, but never expanded past those imminently effected by the resets. All of the members were living the same cycle.
In the beginning of the 19th Cycle, not long after the reset, it was discovered that there were invaders present in the cycle, that would pose a threat to the possible success of the cycle. The thing about the cycles was that all of the people remained the same, only the incarnation changed, but no one new ever joined into the cycles. Yet some how there were invaders during this cycle. The incarnations had to come together to determine the course of action, for they had to find a way to keep themselves safe.
There was something about the invaders. The two invaders knew of the cycle, the had chosen the time specifically for the reason of the resets. They chose this point in time to enter. They had there reason and the incarnations had every reason to fear the motives of the invaders.
Something had to be done about the invaders. The members came together to decide on their fate. The invaders were not able to be trusted, their interference had to be prevented at all costs. The members knew the risk that the invaders posed. Nothing new ever came out of the cycles, yet there they were, appearing shortly after the reset. Something was not right. It took time for the members to realize that the invaders had arrive, for it was not common occurrence for new people to come to the cycles, and it was not like the invaders announced their arrival with a firework show. The cycles were all the same, nothing new was meant to appear, and yet two invaders crashed into Cycle 19. Every cycle was the same save for who was the incarnation and the amount of time that the cycle spanned over. With each reset the time before the cycle ended shortened, meaning that each incarnation had less time to succeed than those that came before him. There were known expectations and the arrival of the invaders went against all those expectations. After all the previous cycles the members knew what to expect.
The incarnations came together for a meeting. There was the total of nineteen people in attendance. All of the members knew the importance of dealing with the threat of the invaders before it got out of hand. They all came to save their existence. They came to the round chamber hidden with in the building that covered the entrance to their base. Lives were put on hold as they had to deal with the threat. they had to protect their existence.
The members all had similar features, which was a result of the cycles. As the numbers increased the age of the members decreased. Each new member that was added was younger than the previous one. The first member joined at 84 years old and the last member that joined was 30. Each lived their own life but lived in essence the same way.
#19 lead the meeting, since it was his cycle, and he claimed responsibility for the intrusion. He was not going to fail because of invaders sudden presence, if he did fail it would because of the predetermined fate of the cycle.
"You all are aware that we have been invaded by those from another time," 19 started off the meeting. The members were all seated around the perimeter of the round room with the space in the middle empty. 19 was standing in the center, as a way to command authority of the room. "We must take action, the sooner that we root out this problem the sooner we would be able to finish the cycles."
