"Are you kids ready?! Its almost time to go!"

It was Halloween and Roxanne's mom was taking her, her brother Kyle, and her brother's two friends, Jake and Alex to the new haunted house. It took a whole half year to be built but it was ready just in time for Halloween. Great. Roxanne wasn't the biggest fan of the whole spooky, scary stuff. She preferred the happy jolly times of holidays like Christmas and the brighter stuff.

She hated things like monsters, ghosts and the dark. Anything in that category, just a big fat nope on her list. But she had made a bet with her brother this year. She cant make it through the haunted house without screaming, he will get her anything she wishes for a week. Knowing her though that would most likely result in a bunch of cookies and sweets.

If she does scream or doesn't make it through, she has to clean his room for a month, and that is something NOBODY wants to do. She stood by the door while her mom gathered up the candy-hyped boys. She hopped in the front seat before any of them could, to which they complained about. Once they eventually got there, they got out only to see a line waiting to enter.

They went over to some benches that had been put out and sat.

"Ok yall sit here while I go get the tickets, And behave yourselves"

Her mom gave them a playful scolding finger before turning to head to get them tickets to go in. The boys sat down on the bench with her and her brother looked at her.

"Still up on the bet?" He gave her a smug grin.

"Yes I am you twerp" She gave a confident face then yawned. "ugh, I'm already tired but that line looks soooo long"

She laid back on the bench to take their spots when they got up to roughhouse on the ground like idiots. "Hey get your lazy bones off the whole bench!" Jake yelled. She just laughs and replied, "Ha ha no, you moved off it so ya lost it, suck it jerk." He glared at her and her and the others burst out laughing. He glared daggers at her, "oh ha.ha very funny".

They continued to rant and mess around with each other until her and Kyle's mom called them over in the spot in line. It was their turn to go in next. Roxanne quickly dropped the teasing energy she had felt just before and felt the nervousness creep in. Jake took the chance to get revenge on her from earlier. "Ha ha, getting scared now?" She crossed her arms. "No, I just find it boring" Alex cut in to add his two cents. "Ha ha ha suuuurree"

She just blocked them out, knowing the perfect prank to get them back sometime anyway. The person at the entrance, wearing some weird creepy doll looking makeup, called them forward. Right as they were about to walk forward, a red bouncy ball dashed in front of them, knocking over the skeleton mannequin. A woman rushed forward with a kid shyly hiding behind her.

"Oh Im so sorry about that, my son was gettin a bit rowdy with his ball and kicked it a little to hard"
The entrance person told her it was really just fine and it was a simple accident. Roxanne picked up the ball and squatted down, holding the ball out to the kid kindly.

"here ya go, you sure got a good kick" She smiled as he hesitantly walked over to get it from her. He gave a smile back and turned to follow his mom as she called him over to go back where they were. He waved at Roxanne before turning to chase after his mom.

Roxanne's mom gave a chuckle.

"I remember when you and your brother were so small" She smiled at the memory then the entrance person called them up and they handed her their tickets.

Her mom called out to them as they went in,

"Ill be waiting at the exit!"

They nodded and waved before going fully inside. Once they were in they looked around. It was old looking and kinda dark with only a few candles to keep the light. They quickly found an old styled note left for them, it read"
