We arrived at the auditorium where we were hearded into groups based on alphabetical order. I was immediately separated from Denese and pushed into a crowd of confused women. After we were grouped, we were grouped once more based on age.
The auditorium was separated into four seating areas. My group was seated farthest to the left with the elders farthest to the right.
I found Denise a few rows in front of me. The familiar music of the broadcast starting filled the room and the soft, gleeful, whispers of the group next to mine hushed. The presidents of our society holographed onto the old stage.

"Greetings all, welcome to the 3428 Initiation Ceremony. As always, we will start with our elders to regonize their years of hard work and to finally let them get the rest they deserve."

The called a long list of men and women, each popping up on the overhead screens. I found my mother eventually through the list. I looked over to see if I could spot her, but it was too dark and there too mamy people in the way. A small frown enveloped upon my face and a quickly removed it.

"Thank you for your work and memories. We won't forget any of you. Now, it's time for our lucky couples to become a family."

There was another long list of names and holograms of the couple excitly waiting for there names and then a quick hug from the two. There had to be over a hundred names.

     "Now for our new couples,"

Another long list of names were called and nervous holograms of the individuals and then relief and a small smile and wave. Each one I grew more and more nervous.

"Last but not least, our newest additions. Let them be filled with energy and delight,"

My heart practicality leapt from my chest and the names begane to be called. When they got to my row I could only listen to my name and nothing else.

"Darcia Mullican, Dentist. Your training will last six weeks. Congratulations," they said in unison.

Dentist? Seriously? So common. I did so average they gave me dentist! That can't be, my mother must be so disappointed.

"Denise Seaberg, Educator. Your training will last five weeks, congratulations,"

That makes sense, I always saw her as an educator. She's always so kind to kids.
