When we got home, mom sent me straight to bed. She didn't let me do anything and she had one of the pack members become her eyes so I wouldn't have to leave the bed for anything other than the bathroom. she was scared i might overwork myself and faint again. To be honest it was suffocating.

Dante left a couple of minutes after I was all settled because he had been ignoring his alpha duties and stayed with me day and night at the hospital waiting for me to wake up and dad wasn't particularly happy about that. I, on the other hand, thought it was sweet of him. He promised me he would be back before I fell asleep and now, I'm sat here waiting for him relaxing with my other love, Netflix.

I wasn't paying attention to the movie tho. My mind kept circling back to what Selene told me and showed me. How on earth can she ask me to leave everyone I love behind just like that and go off to fight her mate and my father whilst pregnant? HOW could she ask me to leave my mate and take his child from him just like that? I tried to imagine my life without my family's support or Dante and i just couldn't. if i don't leave them i will be the cause of all their pain and eventually deaths but if i go i have no idea if I'll ever come back so either way, I'm going to lose them. Still even if there is a slight chance that what I saw was real and I am in fact pregnant, there is no way I can sit and let it happen. Why the fates have dealt me such a cruel hand i will never understand.

I didn't realize when Dante came in but he looked so tired. I shook my thought away and held out my arm to him. It was already midnight and he was just now coming home.

"what are you still doing up baby?" he asked taking off his shoes shirt and pants before coming to bed. I had asked my mom to let me stay in Dante's room to wait up for him and she didn't mind since i wasn't the first time i slept in his room and she knew about the nightmares and so didn't question it.

"I was waiting up for you," i said as he crawled in bed. i was sat up and he positioned himself between my legs laying his head on my stomach. His arms went around my waist and he closed his eyes as i played with his hair.

"You shouldn't be waiting up for me I'm going to be coming back late trying to catch up with the work I missed ok" he mumbled

"Ok fine but don't overwork yourself," I said softly getting no response back. He must have been really tired because he was already fast asleep. I chuckled to myself sadly knowing what i needed to do.

"baby please take care of yourself and everyone for me ok. I'm going to have to leave you, for now, but i promise you i will come back and our child" i spoke softly to my sleeping mate with tears in my eyes. I wiped the tears away turning off the TV and the bedside lamp before cuddling into him.

~~one week later~~

I woke up on top of him with one of his arms around me holding me close and the other was playing with my hair. I groaned at the bright light hiding my face in the crook of his neck.

"Morning beautiful" he chuckled sliding his hand under my oversized shirt and rubbing my back.

"please no" I spoke my voice horse. He kissed his mark sitting up with me letting the blanket fall off us causing me to shiver from the cold.

"Come on get up Nora, I have to go get dressed for work," he said. when he mentioned work my hands and legs went around him like vines on a tree refusing to let go.

"No you don't" i whined still resting my head on his shoulder.

"baby please i have a lot to do today, we can do this when i come back i promise to try and be back early" he reasoned. Little did he know I won't be here later or the day after. I decided it would be better if i didn't delay my departure because i know I'd eventually find a reason to stay and i wasn't going to allow myself to risk it. For now, i just wanted to spend as much time as possible with my mate.
