"BREAKING NEWS! NO°10 HERO:URAVITY CONFIRMED DEAD AFTER VILLAIN ATTACK!"
"Mr. Ground Zero sir. Please! How do you feel about the death of Uravity?!"
"Is it true that you and Uravity have a child?! If so, how will you tell them about the death of their mother?!"
"Could you please elaborate on the situation at hand?!"

They asked him so many questions that day. He didn't answer a single one.

"Momma?"
"...Dear god..."

I was only five at the time. When my quirk was still developing. My parents were pro heroes. The no°2 hero:Ground Zero. And the no°10 hero:Uravity. They were both students at UA. The #1 hero school in all of Japan.

After graduating with the most popular class from their first year, Class 1A, they became the biggest pro heroes in the world. After three years of dating, they had finally decided to tie the knot. And that's where I come in.
Everything was perfect for the next 5 years. Until, the day Uravity, Japan's no°10 hero, drew her last breath. And the day my father nearly quit.

"Congratulations Mr and Mrs Bakugo. It's a healthy baby girl."
"Katsuki...she's beautiful." Uravity cried. "She has her mother's beauty." Katsuki teared up as the tiny human grasped his finger. "And no. We're naming her Murder!"
"Aw, why not? It'll keep the boys away."
"I said no!" Ochacko said jokingly. "Fine." Katsuki sighed. "How about Ikabi?" He suggested. Uravity agreed on the name. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Ikabi Bakugo.

16 years ago. The daughter of two of the most powerful pro hero was born. Dirty ash blond hair that grazed her shoulders, maroon almond eyes, a cute little button nose, and the little cherry on top, the pink blush. At first, she used to be very sociable. But not after, that day.

As news reporters swarmed Ground Zero with questions on his wife's death, the now widowed father just walked away. All he could think about was how he was going to tell his daughter that the person she had looked up to for so long, was now dead.
His friends tried their best to separate him and the media.

"Katsuki! Come here! Quickly!" Ochacko called out from the stairs. As he ran up the stairs to meet his wife and child up the stairs, he could not believe what he had witnessed. Ikabi's teddy bear was floating in the air. "Ochacko, are you showing off again?"
"No! That's not me at all. It's Ikabi!"
"Daddy! Look! He's flying!"
"That's wonderful Mochi! Now, put your fingers together so you can bring it back down." Ochacko explained to her four year old daughter. As little Ikabi brought her fingers together, the unexpected happened. Instead of the bear falling back down to the ground, it blew up into pieces. "Well, well, well. Looks like little Mochi's got herself an explosive quirk." Katsuki praised as he picked up his child. "With a side of Zero Gravity." Ochacko added sassily. "Does that mean I can be a hero, Daddy?" Ikabi asked excitedly. "Of course it does Ikabi! You can be hero if you just work really hard and believe in yourself!"

"I'm sorry Ochacko. I should've been there for you. Me, your family, your friends. Ikabi. All you wanted to do was help your parents. And now that you're a full fledged hero, you finally did it. And now, your daughter, won't be able to see you anymore. All because of me! It's just like when I was a kid. I was the reason All Might retired in the first place. It's like every time I try to do good, it always ends up with someone getting hurt." He sobbed.
In front of her hospital room door, retracing all of his regrets back to his time at UA. The reason the previous no°1 hero, All Might retired. When he first lost to his most despised rival, now ally, Deku. When he was kidnapped by the LoV. When he didn't get his provisional hero license the first time. All trace back to one thing. He was too weak.
"Mr. Ground Zero, sir. Your family is here." The doctor said as she let the rest of the Bakugo family in. Mitsuki Bakugo, his mother, rushed to her sons side and hugged him tightly. Crying on his shoulder. While Masaru Bakugo, his father, held his sons shoulder tight. Almost gripping it. And lastly, the youngest out of them all, Ikabi Bakugo. Still at the fresh age of five, with a developing quirk.
"Daddy?" The young girl asked, "Will Momma be okay?" Her eye welled with salty eye water as her father knelt down to her level, and hugged her tight. "Ikabi. Listen to me. There's something I need to tell you. Your mother, was the most badass woman I've ever met. And that's coming from someone who's made fun of her during our first year in UA." His voice shook. "So, just remember. That your mother will always be with you. You have her fighting spirit. I'm so sorry. I wish she were here with us right now." He wept as his daughter gripped his arms.

*********************

"What?! Are you insane?!"
"Kacchan, what about..."
"I said I'm thinking about retiring, you damn nerds. Jeez."
Ever since that day, Katsuki has thought about retirement. After what he had gone through, he didn't want to go through that again. "And, yes. I have thought about Ikabi's well being. Being a parent is just as hard as being a hero." The troubled parent took a depressing sip of his coffee. "So, you're going to give up? Just like that?!" said the no°3 hero, Shouto. "Wouldn't you do the same thing if your wife was killed Half 'n Half?!"
"First of all:Don't you dare bring my wife into this. Second of all:The Bakugo I knew back at UA was always so obsessed with becoming the no°1 pro hero! The Bakugo I know helped me to forget about my family problems, and worry about bringing my all to the sports festival."
"The hell does that have to do with the death of my wife?" Bakugo's tone of voice now sounded threatening. Which shouldn't be surprising, considering that his classmates are used to hearing him use that tone of voice. But this time, this threatening tone sounded hurt or filled with regret. "What would your child say if you retired right now? How would she react if the person she's looked up to for her whole life, suddenly gave up on all of his dreams? Right now." Shouto said sternly. Bakugo stared into his cup as he set it down. "I'll think about it."
Todoroki couldn't believe what he was hearing. As he stormed out of the house, Deku followed him begging him to wait. "Y'know what Bakugo? You do you. Let's see what she'll say." Todoroki slammed the door behind him, leaving the troubled single parent alone with his daughter sleeping upstairs.
As he stood at the doorway his daughters room, he couldn't help but feel guilt. "Even if I did retire, that would be taking the easy way out." He stared at his daughters plushies. One of Ground Zero, and the other of Uravity. As Bakugo was about to leave her room, he heard a soft whimpering coming from her bed. "Mommy. Please don't go. Please don't. Daddy and I miss you. Please come back." She cried.
A tear filled his eye as he heard his daughters desperate pleas for her mother to come back. "What the hell am I doing? This is my kid. If I give up on being a hero, than I give up on my kid." He walked over to the left side of her bed where her head was rested. His fingers caressed her dirty ash blond hair and softly kissed her forehead. "Don't worry Ikabi. I'll always be here to protect you." He smiled as he walked out of her room.
