donghyuck closed his notebook fast and grabbed his belongings even faster, "we're done for today mark. you haven't been focusing that much. you often blank out and look in my direction. so we can pick up where we left off tomorrow."

mark scratched his head worryingly and in pure confusion, "n-no, that isn't it. do you think you could explain how i should do the thesis again? just one more time and then we can go."

donghyuck sighed and sat down with all his stuff, "okay let me explain again. a thesis is supposed to focus on your ideas into one or maybe even two sentences. it should present the topic of your paper kind of like an introduction but not really. your thesis statement should tell your reader what the paper is about. so your topic is-."

donghyuck was cut off my mark's stomach growling lowly. donghyuck covered his mouth immediately to stop his giggles from bubbling from his throat. mark groaned and donghyuck's response, "it's fine hyuck we can just meet tomorrow since this essay is due soon."

donghyuck quirked his lips and eyebrow. he didn't even try to hide his amusement, "did you just call me hyuck?"

mark face had a pink tinge that spread like a wildfire across his pale skin. he threw his hands out in defense, "o-on accident! jeno, jaemin, and renjun are always calling you hyuck so it's become a habit to me."

donghyuck smiled shyly at mark with his eyes close, "keep calling me hyuck please. it sounds way prettier when it comes out of your mouth."

mark's mouth was just agape at donghyuck's bold yet smooth move. donghyuck chuckled at mark's frozen state, "anyway, do you want to go out to eat? so we can celebrate your tournament. since you know it's five days away."

mark looked at donghyuck confusingly, "why don't we just wait until the tournament is over?"

donghyuck rolled his eyes and laced his fingers with mark's, "come on let's just go to this restaurant i found downtown. i was supposed to go with jaemin and renjun but i'd figure going on a date is better than third-wheeling."

mark sqeezed donghyuck's hand, "uhm hyuck? you're holding my hand?"

donghyuck giggled and then sarcastically said, "really? i didn't notice? and i also called our hangout a date. keep up love."

"love?"

donghyuck rolled his eyes for the umpteenth time and pulled mark with him, "let's go before it closes."

mark quickly agreed, "yeah uhm of course."

-

"so you're telling me that you used to go around your house dancing to hello by shinee" donghyuck said while trying not to laugh too loud in the restaurant he picked.

mark sighed and shoved a piece of food in his mouth. he eventually just sighed, "yeah. my mom used to say that it was my song."

donghyuck smirked at mark's statement, "then why don't you just sing some of it right now?"

mark shook is head no and scoffed, "i only know the lyrics in english."

donghyuck crossed his arms across his chest and pouted, "if you don't sing it then i'll leave and you can take care of the full bill."

mark sighed in defeat and whispered under his breath. "the nerve of this guy. okay hold on." he took a deep breath in and just started to sing, "should i confront you, should i wait for you? it's harder when everyone else says something different."

donghyuck chewed his lips and his eyes showed admiration for the older. when mark was finished he smiled widely, "mark you're so good that you should audition for a company."

mark laughed like there was no tomorrow, "i don't think to be an idol is where my passion lies. i was thinking more of photography."

donghyuck nodded with a small grin left on his face, "well whatever you decide to pursue, i'm sure you'll be great at it."

butterflies swarmed in both male's stomachs as they spent the rest of the evening together.
