Wake Up, or Work Out

After work, you and Tony gathered all of the Avengers into the common room before dinner to welcome back Thor, and tomorrow his brother Loki. After everyone had gathered you had Steve and Tony help you set the table and places for everyone to be seated before eating. You reached for the plates that were in the higher cabinet, but Steve was quick to laugh at your struggles.

"I thought you asked me to help for this very reason." he laughed going to lean over you to reach the plates, but you grabbed his arm to stop him.

"No, I'm a big girl. I can do it myself." you straightened your shirt and hoisted yourself on the counter top. "See, I got it." you smiled while standing on the counter top and grabbed the plates to give to Steve.

"Oh, okay. Wasn't expecting that one." he raised his arms in defense, earning a laugh from everyone at the table.

"I'm full of surprises, Cap. You of all people should know this by now. I bet you wouldn't have expected this one either." you jumped off of the counter and hopped onto his back, startling him as he held onto you with one arm and the stack of plates with the other. "Wow, good balance, Cap." you pat him on the shoulder before hopping off, having Bucky laughing in hysterics.

"Steve, the look on your face!" Bucky was practically tearing up at how hard he was laughing from his seat at the table.

"Yup, that's my girl. Full of surprises." Tony smirked and wrapped an arm around your side before handing you a bowl full of bread for everyone at the table.

You jokingly curtsied at your accomplishment of scaring the crap out of Cap, and smiled when Tony called you his girl. Soon everyone was seated and began eating. Everyone held their own small conversations, which kept crossing as everyone soon came to discuss one larger topic at hand. Clint was the first to raise the question to you.

"So, when are you going on a mission with us?" he looked at you with a smile, leaning on his elbow and a hand under his chin.

"Uh, that's a really good question." you swallowed the piece of bread you had been chewing and sipped from your drink. "I guess that's up to Steve and Tony. Whenever they think I'm ready, I guess." you looked between Tony who was next to you and Steve who was across from you.

"I think she needs a bit more training for combat with Buck and I but, she's already doing way better than I had ever thought." Steve smiled and looked over at Tony.

"She's doing really well with the suit. She understands everything that it can do, and even it's limits. I agree with Steve, maybe more training in combat to make sure if she doesn't have her suit that she'll be okay." he smiled proudly at your achievements and looked over at you.

"I guess this is the perfect time to ask, but I kind of want to learn how to handle real firearms. I definitely won't be as good as Nat and Buck are, but I definitely want to know. It seems pretty bad ass." you smiled and looked over at Nat and Buck who were seated on either side of Steve.

"If you want, we can start tomorrow." Bucky chimed in happily.

"Really? Would it be okay?" you again look between Steve and Tony, but this time for approval.

"I don't see the harm." Tony shrugs.

"I think it's a great idea." Steve smiles and nods.

You were so excited. You hugged Tony and kissed him on the cheek before running over to Steve for just a hug. You then ran over to Bucky to hug him as well. You thanked them all a hundred times over. You really enjoyed training and were so happy to be able to exceed everyone's expectations with your progress. Being able to advance onto something that you were so interested in.
