heart in the rain

I left my heart out in the rain
It poured and poured
And got all stained.

I left my soul out on the beach
It drifted off
And got out of reach.

I left my mind burning in a pipe
It smoked and crumbled
And got too riped.

I left my body in your hands
It shattered like glass
And turned to sand.

I left the world for something better
It withered and churned
And something grew bitter.

I had nothing left in the end
But thoughts and regrets
And need of a friend.
