I was starving.

As tempting as it was I saved my sandwiches. All through the day at uni, all through my 4-8:30 shift at my local supermarket. My belly was grumbling more than usual while walking down the busy streets. It was Friday night, especially after yesterday's incident I avoided the pubs and clubs although it took me slightly longer to reach the shed where I feed the stray cats.

I look around for any glimpse of the boy, but his feathery hair and green eyes were nowhere to be seen.

It was really cold. I shiver, placing my gloved hands into my coat pockets and wrapping my scarf tightly around my face so my hot breath warms me slightly.  I didn't see him that night. But as usual I fed the cats and left a box on top of the shed with a scarf I've had for a few years but barely worn, and the sandwiches. With a handwritten thank you note on the top of it, in hopes he will receive the gift and atleast be a little warmer.

Saturday morning I woke up to Jake breathing on my face. His brown eyes looking down on me, I grumble turning away from him and closing my eyes once again trying to fall back asleep.

"Hey Mia, I'm sorry about yesterday." He apologised sitting on the edge of my bed. However being the petty female that I am, I snuggle further into my duvet covered by warmth as his body slinks beside mine. But I don't reply. "However please can you wake up because there's a movie I really want to go see with you and it starts in a hour and it is already noon."

I shot up, staring daggers into his eyes as I grab whatever clothes I had laying on the floor and sprinting into the bathroom. Half a hour later I was washed and dried my hair thankful for myself for never wearing make up. When I return to my bedroom Jake was laying on my bed watching TV looking like he had no intention of moving, even though I lived a 10 minute walk away from town.

"I was joking, the movie is at 4 I just thought that might wake you up before we leave. I also want to hit town before hand as we meeting up with my group of friends" Jake flashes a grin at me and I glare back, muttering all the words under the sun at him. I plop down back onto my bed, feeling his arms wrap around me.

"I don't like your friends." I mutter a hour later as we begin to depart my home.

"Yeah well you don't have any of your own and we've been planning to watch this for a while, I thought you should come because I'm nice. We are then going to Jays after." Jake replies, throwing my jacket in my direction then wrapping my scarf round my neck as I fiddle with the laces on my shoes. "Also you should stop wearing those dresses and skirts you don't really fit in with us."

"Why fit in when I was born to stand out. Plus I don't want to fit in with you lot." I flash Jake a toothy grin as we step outside, the cold hitting my face instant and I shiver. Jake entwines his fingers with mine as we walk down the street, only letting go when he comes to his 3 friends. I frown but he does this every time leaving me to linger at the back of the group as they chat away about topics that don't interest me.

It was pitch black when we left the cinema, the stars twinkled in the sky and I take a moment to glance at them before we begin the short walk to Jays.  Out of habit I look down each alley way as we pass untill I see a thin figure walking down one, his back towards me. His hands were on the back of his head as he walked but there was no mistaking the feathery hair, Fingerless gloves and the black scarf trailing behind him, blowing in the wind, the silver detailing just barely visible in the street lights beside me.

Without thinking I take off down the alley way. Hearing Jake scream behind me and his foot steps trailing after me. My pounding feet were loud and echoing in the dark alley way and he turns around the second my feet make contact with the ground. I notice his eyes widen slightly as he sees me, his green orbs reflecting in the light.

"Thank you so much for the other day!" I splutter out, Jake catches up with me a second later wrapping his arms around my shoulder.

"Who the fuck is this?" Jake questions, his breath hot on my ear. I look up slightly towards him and if looks could kill the cat boy would be rotting away already.

"I told you about the boy who saved me didn't I. When you was having a strop about me feeding stray cats." I whisper the last bit, hoping not to irritate my boyfriend any further than he is already.

The cat boy smirks. Holding out his hand to me which I take.

"Anytime, thank you for the scarf I feel much warmer. However I must be off as your boyfriend looks like he's about to kill me. Dakota by the way" Dakota smirks, before dropping my hand and was gone in a instant. Seemingly blending in with the shadows as he departs, as silent as a cat.
