Everything in her body hurt. From the hair to the toes. And worse than the pain was the constant nausea that lodged in every cell of her stomach. Maybe it was just some flu or the anxiety caused by the fight or even just the way her menstruation would warn that it was coming. Maybe it was all this together. The fact was, Emma couldn't remember the last time she'd felt this bad. She shifted her body trying - unsuccessfully - to get more comfortable on her big, soft couch. She brought the fluffy blanket up to her neck and tried to focus on the random video on her television.
"You know you can call him, right?" Amanda said as she put on her brown coat. After the fight Emma called her immediately and had her friend go over the lines of the discussion several times trying at all costs to find a way to prove she was right, but, to Em's misfortune, Amanda didn't side with her, In fact, she said they were both wrong and there was no right side to this story."
"He is the last person I want to talk to now."Em said in a whisper. To be honest her heart didn't agree with her brain because now the only thing she wanted was him, but her brain was too proud to admit it. Amanda twisted a face in an "I know you're lying" expression to her, sighed deeply and stood in the mirror by the door fixing her long hair.
" you guys look like kids"Mands rolled his eyes. Not that she disapproved of her friend's relationship. Never. She loved both of them so much, but she had to acknowledge that they were very stubborn and proud and that for the relationship to last someone would have to give in. "But I won't get into it" she added. "I'm leaving, baby. Please, if you don't feel well call me okay? - Said staring at her friend by the reflection of the mirror.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine"Emma assured her, forcing her best smile. The last thing she wanted now was to worry - even more - her friend. Amanda had been taking care of her all night and this afternoon was going to audition for one of LA's biggest broadcasters. She couldn't disturb it.
"I love you, bitch," Mands announced, blowing a kiss on Em's cheek.
"Love you too! Good luck." Answered while Amanda disappeared from your view through the door.
Emma shifted her position again and nearly cried with joy when she felt that position lessened her nausea significantly. She noticed her eyes getting heavy and took a long breath and allowed herself to relax a little. Maybe a nap was all she needed to feel a little better. Her eyes closed and as she was about to fall asleep she was awakened with loud knocks on her door. She moaned in defeat. Probably Amanda had forgotten something. She gathered the rest of her strength, got up from the couch, and walked to the door with the blanket over her whole body, but who was waiting on the other side was one of the people she didn't think she would see anytime soon.
"Ethan? What are you doing here" She questioned, feeling her legs weaken and her stomach turn over. She needed to lie down as soon as possible.
"Amanda texted me saying you were sick." He explained, crushing his lower lip between his teeth. As soon as his eyes landed on her, he knew she wasn't well. She was paler than usual, big dark circles highlighting her blue eyes and her expression wasn't the best. He felt his heart break and a pang of guilt spread. He should be there taking care of her not at home arguing with Grayson about their next channel video.
"I've told her millions of times that I'm fine." She rolled her eyes, but deep down she was glad to know he was there that he was worried about her.
"You don't look well "He announced, placing one of his big hands on her forehead. Within seconds he felt her skin warmer than usual. "Fuck, you have a fever." -Ethan found while entering her apartment. Emma took a deep breath feeling the sickness growing inside her. "And there's no point in sending me away because you don't fool me and-" He spilled the words quickly consumed by nervousness.
"E? I feel sick "She interrupted him. She put her hands on his shoulders behind a support. Ethan automatically ran his hands over her body.
"Do you want to throw up? "He asked, running his fingertips over her back. Emma just nodded as Ethan led them to the nearest bathroom.
In a matter of seconds she broke free of him and knelt in front of the toilet. She felt the icy ground touch her knees and her hands seek support. She stuck her head into the object and finally dumped everything on it. He ran one hand down her back in circles while the other held her long hair in a bun. Every noise in her throat made his heart ache. She was in pain and he could do nothing and believeme that for Ethan that was desperate.
"Do you feel better"He asked, watching her rest her head on the toilet lid. Emma just shook her head. He then lifted her, they stopped at the sink so she could brush her teeth and then went to bed. Ethan covered her and lay down beside her. She snuggled into his chest, feeling the heat of his body heat her up. She brought her nose to his neck, smelling the strong scent of his cologne intoxicating her senses. This was her favorite place.
"Sorry for yesterday." She whispered closing her eyes as his hands began to caress her hair. "I've been treated so badly by boys all my life that when they try to do something cool, I just don't know how to react" she added.
-Nah, that's fine. I was also a complete idiot yesterday. "he sighed. "I have this habit of give gifts for everyone away all the time. It's my way of saying that I love you. "He whispered against her hair feeling a kiss on hisr neck. Emma felt as if her heart was going to explode and definitely concluded that there in his arms, hearing his heart beat, his scent, his stubble, his slow breathing was all she needed.
