~Zayn~
The scandal from before had been taken care of and the meet with the board members had been rescheduled and done with. Mira and I are trying to avoid being too close to each other, me, because I don't have a contract and Lindsay can't stop reminding me about it and Mira is acting that way for whatever reason she has. It's an unspoken agreement between us to leave Lindsay undiscussed, although, I feel the need to reprimand Mira's behaviour towards her. It's a busy day and I haven't seen Mira in a minute. She's been running around, putting together the necessary documents for the upcoming investors meeting. Zed Industries is expanding and things are getting a lot busier in the office. I briefly think about the three-month contract with Mira coming to an end and it kind of unnerves me. Not only because I have another agenda with Mira that I am yet to accomplish, but because she's a damn fine personal assistant. She knows her job, she makes quick connections and covers for me when I fail. When it's over, I am going to miss her keeping me up to date with my duties as the owner and primary investor of this large company and as an employer responsible for about five thousand employees. I enjoy the coffees that she leaves on my table on extremely tight days and the rare reassuring smiles she passes me when she knows I've reached my threshold. Nothing's happened between us, since the night at the penthouse and we've come to an unsaid agreement that we are not to talk about it. I want to, but she's has been making it very clear that it's something she's not in the space to discuss and for once I don't want to push her.
When I'm lost in my thoughts, Mira peeks in and asks, "Hey, you want me to make a call with Xavier's secretary and get his favourite wine sent to his place before the meeting?"
"Is it necessary? I mean.."
She gives me a pointed look, "Zayn, he's gonna be the biggest investor if this pulls through! You have to keep him positive. Something expensive, nicely packed can be the beginning."
I sigh, because I know she's right. We're expanding into having a try on store of the different gaming software and apps that we come up with at our company, for people to first-hand experience a product from Malik's and we're also expanding into other software, that's unrelated to gaming and he's the biggest investor we have at hand. I nod and pull my wallet out, "Do a hamper. Add a couple more things. A bouquet maybe?"
"Zayn, we have to be nice, not patronizing! But I'll see what more we can do. Also, I'll use the company card?" She says while she waves the company card in her hand.
"Use this. Seems more personal?" She frowns but moves forward to get the card from me. She pulls the card from my fingers and adds, "While we are at it, let's send something to everybody? I'll enquire and send something that they favour?"
I smile. She is the daughter of one of the smartest businessmen I've seen in England. I wonder why she's refusing to help her dad. It makes me think if there's something else that is stopping her.
"Sure. Do what you think is best."
"Cool." She turns around and walks away and before I could myself I call out to her.
"Mira?"
"Yeah?" She turns around briefly and waits for me to say what I wanted to say. She looks a bit concerned and a bit confused because I don't know what the fuck is going in her mind.
"Can we talk for a bit?"
She looks disarmed. He expressions reveal her confusion with the situation we are in. "Sure. After lunch?"
"Do you mind, now?"
I don't even know what I'm gonna say, but I want to talk to her.
"Sure. What's up?"
