When she walked outside to sit, she noticed how peaceful it was, so away from the world. She put in her headphones, listening to her favorite singer that was actually from this era, Birdy. She opened the blue book. Emmersyn was suddenly engulfed by the book, she sat still, and then she was in the pages, within the words; she was in their world, the fictional world.

She appeared in the woods when she came into the world. She looked down, now wearing an entirely different ensemble and clutching a dagger in her hand, she decided to put in her boot, incase she tripped. ‘What kind of world am I in? I’m definitely not  in Bushing, Pennsylvania anymore.’ she thought to herself confusedly. She walked for a little while until she was out of the woods. She then saw the village. There were tons of little cabins and cottages, but no big buildings, aside from what looked like a town hall.

She was walking down a dirt back road, when she turned a corner, she wasn’t looking and suddenly she bumped into someone and fell on the ground. “Oops, I’m sorry, I’m really clumsy,” said Emmersyn. “I’m sorry too,” said the other girl, helping Emmersyn to stand up. “We’re supposed to be going back and taking shelter, they’re going to attack in about an hour, I thought that I was the only one out,” said the girl quietly. “I’m new here, and don’t exactly know where I am or where I came from. Who is going to attack?” Emmersyn replied more quietly this time. “You’re in part one,” the girl said, “The attackers are from across the state. But I don’t have time to explain, come with me, you can stay with me and David. I’ll explain later, after the attack. I’m Hailey by the way.” “I’m Emmersyn.”

They stopped a few minutes later at a little cottage, Hailey knocked a rhythmic little song on the door. Then the boy opened it, Hailey and Emmersyn walked in and then the boy quickly closed it. “Who is the new chick, Hailey?” The boy questioned. “David,” she directed at the boy, “meet Emmersyn, I’m going to call her Em.” “Em, meet my roommate and boyfriend, David.”

“Do you have everything set up and ready, David?” Hailey asked him. “Everything except for the weapons,” He answered in a blunt tone. Hailey then ran into the other room, she came back with a long sword, a short sword/knife, and three glimmering daggers. Hailey handed the sword and a dagger to David, and then asked Emmersyn for her pick. Emmersyn took the short sword, and Hailey put the two remaining daggers in her boots. “Okay, it’s time,” said David. “Follow us, Em,” Hailey told her.

“Last chance for the bathroom,” David muttered. After they were done with that; they went back into what appeared to be a bedroom. David went to the dresser and started pulling it away from the wall, he then moved the wall a tiny bit, to reveal a crawl space. It was about two and a half feet, by two and a half feet. “Hai, you first. Then Em, I’ll go last, and pull the dresser and wall back,” said David in a leader like voice. Hailey went through, “There’s like a six foot drop Em,” Hailey yelled up. Emmersyn then went in, next David. She took in her surroundings; It was like a little closet, tall enough to stand in, long enough to lay in. Pillows were all over the floor. There was a shelf with food and flashlights on it, as if you could be trapped there for an extended period of time. “We will probably be spending the night in here,” David stated knowingly, as he turned out the lights.

Emmersyn sat in the corner, it was pitch black, and only the sound of her new friends breathing could be heard. It soon became absolutely silent, she could see nothing at all, and thats when she let the silent tears fall. It was so confusing, she didn’t know where she was or who these odd friendly people were. At least she knew who she was, and where she came from, or at least she thought so. She just couldn’t fathom what this place was. She silently cried for quite some time, a few hours at least. But then, the people came. And she sat there, practically holding her breath with the others.
