Niall:
I checked the mail as I drove into the driveway. I parked the car, skimming the letters in my hand. My eyebrows narrowed at a letter from the bank. I quickly opened it. The letter summarized was that a dress and ring was purchased, both adding up to over ten thousand dollars. They had been purchased two weeks ago, I wouldn't remember getting such expensive shit like that and I sure as hell didn't get it in the past two weeks.
The easy suspect was Niall.
It wasn't the first time I've gotten these type of letters from the bank. It's been a two month progression, an expensive necklace, expensive shoes, expensive bracelets that I never recieved. If I wasn't recieving them, who the hell was getting them?
I unlocked the front door and walked in to see Niall on the couch, watching television. I closed the door softly, trying to contain my anger and sadness as I walked into the kitchen and placed the mail on the counter.
"Hey babe, how was your day?" I bit my lip, gathering all the mail I recieved from the bank in the past two months. There was six.
"It was fine, y-yours?"
"Amazing." I frowned, sniffling as I walking past the couch and to the stairs. "Hey, what's the rush, (Y/N)?"
"Nothing, I just need to use the bathroom." I rushed up the stairs and into our room. I searched ever drawer, every shoebox, under the bed, and every compartment of the bathroom and closet and found none of the things that had been listed on those letters. Tears began rolling down my cheeks as I sat on the closet floor, breaking down right then and there.
If he wasn't giving them to me, he was giving them to somebody else.
"(Y/N), where is- Why are you crying?" I threw the letters at his feet. He kneeled down and read one, his mouth agape.
"If you weren't happy with me, you should've just told me." I whimpered.
"No, it's not like that!"
"Then where is all this shit, huh?! Wh-What? Are you wearing them?!" He sighed, "Who are you spending this money on, Niall? A-And where the hell are you getting this money?!"
"I got two jobs." I narrowed my eyebrows at him. Niall and I worked together for our local newspaper and ever since these letters have come around, he's been leaving work early, always on the phone.
"I don't believe you." I breathed.
"It's the truth!"
"If that's the truth then why the hell won't you tell me who these are for?!"
"Because it'll ruin everything."
"You should've thought of that before you decided to cheat on me." I stood up, shoving past him.
"Wait." He chuckled, "Wait a minute." He took my wrist, but I shoved him hard. "(Y/N), I'm not cheating on you."
"Why won't you tell me the truth, Niall?" I cried, "You should've just spared me te heartbreak.."
"You don't trust me."
"I don't know what to think, it's been two months since we've actually been intimate. You're gone almost all day and sometimes I sleep alone and the girls are always wondering how we are and I never know what to say so I lie-"
"You think I'm not happy with you?"
"I honestly don't know how you feel about me anymore." He sighed, cupping my head.
"I love you, more than I've ever loved in a very long time. I would never do anything intentionally to hurt you."
"But-"
"Let me finish." I frowned, "That stuff is for you, but I've been waiting to give it to you for a while now. I-I just needed the right moment. But now that you're at the brink of leaving me, I might as well give this to you." I gasped as he got down on one knee, pulling a small box out his jeans. "This ring that I spent almost a year investing in, because I love you so much that I'm willing to devote myself to only you for the rest of my life, (Y/N). Of course, you'd have to feel the same to accept this ring. So what I will ask is, will you marry me?" I sniffled, smiling a bit as I nodded.
"Yes, yes I will." I whimpered as he stood tall, kissing my lips. "I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry I didn't trust you."
"It's okay, as long as you said yes." He grinned, pecking my lips once more. I giggled, as he slid the ring onto my finger.
"I love you, Niall." I smiled, "Now where's my other stuff?" He chuckled.
"Well that was supposed to be for the dinner I would've taken you to propose, but I guess you'll get it soon." We both laughed, our lips rejoining.
