Time skip, March
"A-dog!" Someone called from behind me, and I turned to face Mack.
"Fleetwood!" I shouted as I gave her a hug. She smiled and we walked towards our classes.
"So how's Liz?"
"Oh she's great! We're both expecting our college letters to come back, I think we're both going to go to Penn State on full rides,"
"Oh nice! Me and Alex are going to do the same, except we're going to Rowan,"
"How is Alex? I haven't seen her in a while,"
"She's great, she got my roses yesterday," Mack said dreamily, thinking back on the memory.
"Your head over heels man" I commented, looking at the face she was making while thinking of Alex.
"And you aren't?" She joked
"Okay fair point," I laughed, and we walked into class. As always, it was boring as shit.
Time skip, after school in the parking lot
"Babe!" Liz called, running down the school stairs.
"Hey Liz!"
"Mind giving me a ride?"
"Oh you didn't drive your motorcycle today?"
"No, it's in the shop right now so I had to take the bus this morning,"
"Okay! Want me to ask my parents if you can come over for dinner?" I asked. I had met Liz's Dad, and I had finally been informed that her Mom died when she was in eighth grade after being a severe car crash. Liz had talked to my parents, but hadn't been over to have a dinner with them yet, so I figured this was a great opportunity.
"Oh yeah! Sound great!" She said, pulling out her phone to text her dad. I did the same, asking my parents in a group chat about it.
"My parents said it would be great!"
"My Dad said it's fine too," Liz responded with a smile, and we got into my car to drive to my house for an early 5 o'clock dinner.
We chatted the whole way home, and with how many times we complimented each other we were blushing like idiots by the time we got to my house. We walked into my house, Liz itching her palm with the same hand, making it look like a normal fist. She only did that if she was nervous.
"They'll love you, I promise,"
"Okay, yeah it'll be fine,"
My parents came out of the kitchen to greet me, giving me a big hug before turning to Liz.
"Hello Liz!" They both greeted, smiles on their faces.
"Hello Mrs and Mr.Yorkshire, thank you for having me for dinner,"
"Oh it's no problem dear, here come in and have a seat at the table," My Mom lead her to the kitchen, even though she knew where everything was already. My Mom put the chicken on the table, it was baked with homemade bread crumb coating on it. Liz cut off a piece and took a bit. Her face gave away how she felt about the food in one second.
"This is amazing Ms," And I could tell she truly meant it, soon digging back in.
"Well thank you Liz,"
"Yeah it's really good Mom," I added, taking another bit of my chicken. Dinner went really smoothly, my parents seemed to really like Liz. They kept grinning whenever she said something they liked, so they were basically grinning the whole time. After dinner was over, Liz said she had to go home, and I said I would walk her out.
"You think they liked me?" She asked, and at first I thought she was joking but her face was 100% serious.
"Are you kidding? They loved you!"
"That's good to hear," She said with a laugh, before pecking me on the lips and saying goodbye.
"Love you!" I called as she went to walk to her house, which was in the neighborhood next to ours.
"Love you too!" She called back, blowing a kiss and laughing when I pretended to catch it.
All in all, it was a pretty great night.
