The Fight For Life

Chapter 3

Khara suddenly sprinted out of the den and I saw Vassal slowly appear. He was struggling to get out of Khara's grasp and had a knife to his neck which was held aloft but khara's magic. Ranner then opened the cage door and made me walk out. She then asked Vassal "give me your necklace and you can have your sister back, unharmed."

I quickly shouted to Vassal "DON'T!"

Ranner then stabbed me in the back of my left leg and I couldn't do anything about it, I was now sitting on the floor. I let out a piercing scream of pain. After I stopped Ranner whispered in my ear "It's only going to get worse."

Then she turned back to Vassal, Khara had the knife so close to his neck that with one swipe she would cut him. He started to struggle. Ranner then asked for his answer (yes or no) to her amusement he struggled and say "no."

My brain clicked and I knew what was coming.

I then let out another piercing scream as Ranner slowly cut into me with the knife just at the back of my right shoulder (shoulder blade). I fell limp to the floor. Khara then cut Vassal on the cheek I shouted to them "you gave me your word! Don't hurt him!"

Ranner, without warning, stabbed me in my left eye and I couldn't see anything, as I fell to the floor on my left side. Now, don't get me wrong it was painful but not as much as the back of my shoulder (I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of my pain, I did NOT scream). Ranner just laughed at my words of sorrow.

She then grasped me up by my neck with her magic, I could not move, I was slowly losing breath. Ranner then spoke to me in more of a surprised voice "Well aren't you smart, we don't keep promises as many Kirin and Changelings don't remember them but you seem to be one of the smarter ones." she then turned to Khara "do what you want with him and get that necklace".

Turning back to me, Ranner continued to choke me until I started to flicker in and out of consciousness, when I almost fell unconscious when she through me to one of the walls and approached me knife in her magic. Ranner then slowly cut into my hide of my front left leg and as soon as I regained my breath, my screams filled the room as she broke through my bones.
