Jeremy got a call from Derek at lunch time asking him to come up from the cafeteria to the tech lab. Derek was a popular-ish kid and was the only person Jeremy really talked to. They had a good relationship, and knew each other for two and a half years.

DEREK: "Hey, Hey man! I'm throwing a party tonight, if you're interested! Of course you're invited dude! I'd love for you to be there! Come up to the tech lab boss, were discussing the arrangements!

JEREMY: Oh really?... That's uhh-- that's cool man. I'll really check my schedule for you..--

DEREK: Tech lab bro.

JEREMY: okay, I'm coming up.

*Phone hangs up*

*Walking up stairs to tech lab*
Ugh..I really don't care for parties though. They're really not my thing. Oh well. I might have to sneak out. What am I saying? That's crazy...
*Trips*

FUCK! dammit. -Sshh!- ow.. that hurt. Right on my collar bone. Anyway, that's gonna leave a bruise. I should be more careful

*Walks up last step*
Ugh I need water... jeez I complain a lot! So busy minded too. This CBD isn't working.

~is across the hall from Derek who is sitting in the tech lab.~

Jeremy comes over, and Derek says "Hey boss, I hope you don't plan on wearing those scraps to my party tonight! Ha!"

Derek liked Jeremy he just didn't always know the right things to say. He wasn't trying to be mean, he was just an honest person with no censors or sense of what might hurt a person's feelings or not. He was too much of a narcissist. He couldn't relate to someone being offended by insulting comments, so he didn't understand which ones were or not.

Jeremy quickly turned away and started walking back towards the staircase. He didn't like Derek's comment.

Derek yells back "AY YO JERRY, I'm sorry bro, I was kidding!"
Jeremy turns around. Derek yells back again "Obviously you're gonna be changing! Haha!"
Jeremy turns back around again toward the staircase and this time closes the door behind him.
Derek rolls his eyes, and follows him.

"Hey, I'm sorry." Derek says as he pulls out a hundred and a 20. "Here...this can get you something nice to wear..."
"I'M NOT BROKE THAT'S NOT WHY I LEFT!" Shouts Jeremy.

"Oh, I thought that's why---" ~Derek
"No!" ~Jeremy

Jeremy calms down and lowers his head and voice as he says, "It's not because of money Derek, my parents are strict. I don't even know if I'll be able to make it to your party even..."

Derek responds "That's okay boss, you just gotta sneak out.."

Jeremy looked at Derek with a concerned look and then turned away as his face replaced the expression with a sad one. "I wish I didn't have to..."

"I can try to convince them!" says Derek.
"Why do you even want me at your party so bad? I mean, you know about me...I'm a schizophrenic... I can't drink, or it'll fuck with my medicine."
"That's all cool man. We can smoke you know?"
"Ciggies?!" Said Jeremy raising an eyebrow, and jerking his head to the side.
"No dude, weed. Cigs are my thing" Derek says as he grabs Jeremy and rubs the top of his head with his knuckles, putting him in a light headlock.
Jeremy starts panicking and trying to free himself, Derek noticed and he lets go quickly.
"Wow dude. You got that much anxiety?" Derek says.
Jeremy replies "It's natural for me to feel that way in a situation where I feel trapped. Anytime someone makes me feel like I can't get out of their grip I panic, and that's fine!"
Derek rolls his eyes and scoffs. He smiles at Jeremy and laughs.

The bell rings
