Every day had been unexpectedly boring for Namjoon. It's like an endless loop of being constantly unable to break through this boring cycle of routine. Somewhere deep inside of his heart, his rebellious side had made a protest for white some time. Yet all Namjoon ever did is go with the flow, such a pushover he is.
In a corner of this solar system, he lived out in his boring days. Without nearing nor veering, it maintains its distance as it revolves round and round. The sky slowly stretches higher and light grows further.
"It sure is lonely." He sometimes thought that. His subtle feet remain unbothered at the thought.
---------------
I said goodbye to the inevitable yesterdays. What are the response? What are the expectations? Such questions are a pain.
Sometimes I looked up at the stars and thought, "I'm sure it's a shooting star or something."
I believe something will change. That light of the shooting stars will definitely take me to the world of unknown.
---------------
Sipping on the hot cup of his coffee, Namjoon let out a heaving sighed.
Another boring day, 8 hours at school, same greeting at home. Nothing special. Nothing.
He glanced at the starry night. The stars shine brightly, uppon the unreachable dark blue sky. It was a fantastical view that put Namjoon to his imaginary thoughts.
There must be something mythical happening up there. Namjoon often thought.
Being born smart and intelligent, he had always immersed in undiscovered things. Even if science is what most humans believed to be logical and an explainable way to define everything, it couldn't stop Namjoon from being curious about the unknown.
Especially about the outer space. The place where only a handful of humans had been to.
It piques Namjoon's curiosity so much he couldn't sleep at night. The boy would constantly stare upon those nights with any theoretical thoughts he could ever come up with. Then get disappointed over nothing when there're no unusual events occurred.
Scribbling down some random notes under the dim light of his table lamp. He then tapped the pen deliberately on the notebook with one hand cupping his face, chin protruding. His brows creased, studying the notes closely with soft music playing beside him from his phone.
The latter was so concentrated in his own world he bearly realized what was happening outside.
He then shivered by the coldness of the wind blowing in. It was fall so the weather is quite chilly. Namjoon turned to the window to close it, but something happened to make him stop midway.
Something he had been awaited for too long that it seems unreal when it befell.
Flash
Radiant of lights shine into the room, liting up the darkroom instantly. The brightness made Namjoon squinted his eyes, head hammering, still unsure of what's going on.
As fast as it came, it disappeared just as quick. The room fell into its usual darkness, except this time, something else was present.
A young man standing in the middle of his room. Faded auras embrace him as his body sparkled. He wears all white, with a simple white shirt and pants. The ethereal man slowly lifted his head up, his brunette bangs fell down covered his eyes a bit and give Namjoon an intense gazed.
The man didn't say anything, neither did Namjoon. They observed the beings in front of them unsurely and closely.
Were his eyes playing tricks? No, he highly doubt it.
What happened before he was all vividly real. He didn't hallucinate, nor hit his head. The being presented before him held a strong attraction that made Namjoon believed it was all solidly real.
"W-who are you?" Namjoon asked, lips quivering.
The being didn't respond. Instead, it stepped closer to Namjoon until they were 10 centimeters apart. It opened its lips moderately, responding.
"Kim... Seokjin." The being said, voice angelic. Reaching out one hand to cupped Namjoon's face. The touch made him flinched, its hand felt so cold against his skin yet comfortable.
"You... Felt so warm." It said, feeling Namjoon's skin with the tips of his fingers. The latter was weirded out but didn't reject the skinship.
"That's because I'm a human." Namjoon stated, taking a closer at this being face. He was astonishingly ravishing.
"Human?" Seokjin asked, didn't quite understand.
"What are you?" Namjoon quizzed, he wanted to know.
"I am..." It halted, "A child who was born uppon the stars."
After that, the being vanished with no trail behind, leaving Namjoon dumbfounded. It was as if he never existed on the first place.
A child who was born uppon the stars...?
---------------
Years later, "it" never appeared again even once. He stayed up every single night, hoping.
The event that happened that one specific night, he could never forget.
He remembered it as though it was yesterday. The shape of its being, those heavenly voices that resonate throughout his room and how its cold hand felt against his skin.
Namjoon yearned to meet the being again, yet the stars never answered his wish again since that day when he wished for the unknown.
---------------
The mysterious light I saw on that day, people said I was hallucinating.
"There's no way something like that exists"
Kim Seokjin, were you just an egotistical delusion of mine?
Not that Namjoon ever knew, a star had always keep an eye on him. Whenever he goes, wherever he been to, the star would always stay there, right beside him reassuringly.
