"This patient was to be tapped yesterday but there is no indication of her being tapped?"
"Who is the student on this bed?"
The consultant shouted, all the eyes were diverted towards me as I gave a shocking gesture,
I developed a steady breath as I tried calming my panic, I looked paralyzed to my spot and you could tell that the sudden shock tensed my muscles,
I became glued to the consultant who was big and strong with long arms and legs, his eyes were full of anger to an extent that they almost popped out of their socket, with his clinical coat written Dr Mark Kelvin, physician."I... I just... Just"...
"I really don't entertain students who behave like tourist in my ward, what were you doing the whole of yesterday? It seems you aren't ready to learn, kindly excuse us and come back when you are ready to learn" The consultant continued with his ward round.
I kindly excused myself out the ward not knowing what to do, all I had in mind was that I started on the wrong side,
I knew it wasn't my fault, I just got assigned to that bed that morning and it was some 5 minutes prior to the consultant's arrival, and also my first time on the internal medicine ward, all I remembered was that the patient was 50 years, male with long standing alcoholic cirrhosis and progressive abdominal pain and distension and this I heard it from Dr Patrick, an intern in that ward
"Hey, Zuheila, why aren't you on ward?"
two of my collegues shouted, this was Mohamed and Salma,"Things are bad inside, I said, looking confused,
"The guy cought me off guard, came abruptly, dint have clerked patient, so I was chased out,
and am warning you all in advance, if none has a clerked patient, don't show up"We all decided to withdraw and as we turned around, we heard,
"help please!"
We all ran towards the direction of the sound, on reaching there, we found a man fully covered in blood at the hospital packing surrounded by people,
all three of us halted in front of the scene as everyone started pointing at us.
It was then Mohammed looked at himself and then rolled his eyes that we got to know three white coats amidst the crowd, they were giving us the looks as if we were angels from heaven coming to rescue the world but from outside, the expressions on our surfaces were like we were just thrown to hell gate!Hellow! guys... Assalam'alaikum❤️
it's a pleasure having you all here...
