Chapter 11- How long will this separation last?

It was lonely in his big house.

It was lonely in his small apartment.

The occasional visits to each other's house had stopped. They haven't spoken to each other after that incident.

Len had left the two alone after seeing Gakupo enter the room. They didn't talk to each other and no explanation was uttered after Len had left. Gakupo left soon after Len, after looking briefly at Kaito with anger in his eyes and disappointment in his face. The door was slammed harshly by Gakupo and it made Kaito wince.

Kaito lay on his bed, sighing along with the noises of the rain. It was quite the rainy season. He stared at the ceiling, rethinking the events that caused this unbearable separation. It was normal for couples to fight, right? But it's already been more than a week. Do they normally last this long? Kaito thought and thought about how he could apologize and explain it to Gakupo properly and not make him furious any further.But he was anxious, scared that it would only worsen their relationship. He was scared to lose what was precious to him. 

He thought to himself, was he being too harsh when he left him? Gakupo stared through the window from his workplace. The yells kept going, but he let them fly through the other side. Instead he focused on his thoughts, rethinking the events that caused this unbearable separation. It must've been normal for couples to fight right? But in the dramas, they don't seem to take a week long to get back together. Maybe I should be the one to apologise, Gakupo thought, After all, he didn't do anything wrong and didn't even get to explain. I didn't give him time to explain! I must be so stupid to let such a small farce even worse. Gakupo shook his head, thinking about how he could make it worse if Kaito didn't forgive him. I mean, he didn't give Kaito time to explain which he thought made him look like a complete douche if some stranger were to to just happen apon them (not that anyone would).

It was odd eating dinner alone for they always ate it together. Gakupo would cook and Kaito would help. But now, with neither of them by each other's side, Kaito slurped on his ramen noodles in a cup. Gakupo had take-away, something he had when he didn't have time to cook. But it wasn't because he didn't have time, it was mostly because he felt lonely and just wasn't quite able to do anything properly.

Gakupo headed straight to bed after finishing his nightly shower. He stood before his queen sized bed, staring at the opposite side of it from where he slept. He pictured Kaito's small frame snuggling underneath the covers, grasping onto the soft pillows as he smiled, giggling because of his dream. Gakupo wondered how long it would be until he would see him in person. How long would this last? Days? Weeks? Months? Years would be quite an awful exaggeration, of course. Well... One would hope so.

The screeching of a car tyre caught Kaito's attention. He peered outside his front window where you could see the street and the garden from the neighbor across. A black car stopped in front of  his apartment complex. A small figure stepped out from the back seats of the car as a chauffer (whom he thought it might be) opened there car door for him. He noticed that the small figure was growing closer and closer. Kaito soon knew who it was one he was under the lights. Not wanting to cause further trouble, Kaito quickly turned all the lights (excluding the outside one) and his himself quietly where a person who would be at the door can't see them.

"Kaito-kun~~!!!" Gentle knocks echoed across three hallway, from the front door to behind the sofa where he was hiding. Some people would think that hiding would be quite a ridiculous idea but Kaito didn't want to make the problem even worse, just in case Gakupo draw through his window from his house. Len yelled from outside, calling out Kaito's name, careless of the neighbors.

Kaito's ringtone was fairly loud that he quickly granted a pillow to suffocate it's noise, hoping that Len didn't hear it.

Kaito was saved as Len clicked on his heels, sighing as he looked down on his phone.
