Chapter 3

I sat there on the couch, hugging a pillow as I cried softly. It's been a week since I told Aaron I wanted to take a break. My sister was coming over today to help me get some stuff so I could stay with her while Aaron was back.

"Don't do it," I wailed, crying into the pillow as I watched Gabriella leave Troy in 'Gotta Go My Own Way' in High School Musical 2. There was a soft knock on the door and I sniffled, wiping my eyes with the sleeves of one of Aaron's sweatshirts. "Come in," I yelled before burying my face back in the pillow, resuming my crying.

"Blake," my sister sighed, hurrying over and sitting besides me and rubbing my back. "It's been a week! You're the one that wanted to do this," she gulped as I sniffled softly, looking up at her. "Blake, have you stopped crying since he left?" She wiped my eyes as I shook my head.

"No," I sniffled, looking at her with my big brown eyes that shared a big resemblance to hers, both of us getting them from our dad.

"Blake, why would you tell Aaron you wanted a break if you loved him this much?" She sighed, wrapping her arm around me as I hugged her tightly, crying into her shoulder.

"Because I'm not sure he loves me like I love him," I cried as she rubbed my back.

"Has he reached out?" She gulped as I shook my head, sniffling before resuming my ugly cry.

"No, but some of the guys did," I cleared my throat, sitting up.

"And?" She smiled softly as I shrugged.

"They told me that he really misses me," I mumbled as she laughed softly, nodding her head.

"And that's not good enough?" She grabbed my hands in hers as I shook my head.

"No, I want him to do something big. Something that shows me that he really loves me the same way I love him," I sniffled as she nodded.

"And what if he does something big in his terms, but small in yours?" She gulped as I laughed softly, shaking my head.

"Mack, he's the man that made me believe in true love and love at first sight. I know him like the back of my hand! Nothing will ever be big on his terms and small in mine because I know every little detail about him," I smiled as my sister nodded, smiling back at me. "I just," I gulped, my smile fading softly, "I just want him to show me that he loves me even half as much as I love him," I sniffled as Mack nodded, smiling brightly.

"If he's the same Aaron that calls me every week to ask if you're happy, then I'm sure he'll do something," she smiled as I laughed softly, giving her a confused look.

"What?" I smiled as she raised an eyebrow.

"He never told you?" She grinned as I shook my head. "Every Saturday morning he calls me and he asks me if you're happy. He asks if you've told me anything about how you're unhappy or sad about anything," she smiled as I smiled softly, shaking my head.

"So that's how he knew that I was upset about stuff before I even got around to telling him," I smiled as she nodded.

"That's how he knew," she sighed, squeezing my hands. "I know that he loves you, Blake. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter who knows how he feel except for you, and I give you so much credit for doing what you thought was best," she smiled as I nodded, clearing my throat.

"Thanks, Mackie," I gulped, hugging her tightly.

"Let's pack up some clothes so I can give our neighbor a break from babysitting the twins," she laughed softly.
