Emma's POV:
I placed my last trophy on my shelf and took a couple steps back admiring my new room. It was much bigger than my old room back in Seattle. I could actually fit my bed, a desk, and my dresser while still having plenty of floor space. It only took 2 weeks but my dad and I were now finally settled in our new home in Oakland California.
"Emma, dinner's ready," my dad called from downstairs in the kitchen.
"Coming" I replied while speed walking down the hall and then down the stairs. It smelled heavenly but I couldn't quite figure out what the smell was.
"Mmmmm lasagna" I said pulling out my chair so I could sit.
"Did you finish your unpacking sweetheart" my dad asked serving the food.
"Mmm-hhh" I simply responded while stuffing the food in my face, I was starving.
The rest of dinner not much more was said. As I started doing the dishes my dad approached me.
"Your going to try out for the football team, right?" my dad asked with anticipation in his voice.
"Of course" I replied kind of chuckling. He answered with a smile and then disappeared into his room. I didn't see him for the rest of the night. I watched a couple of my tv shows and then went to my bathroom to take a shower, I had to get to bed soon because the first day of school was tomorrow.
After showering and doing my night routine, I finally climbed into bed. I stared at the ceiling feeling my eyelids getting heavier, soon there was nothing but black. The next morning when I woke up I had mixed feelings of being excited and nervous. I wanted to make a good impression so I was being especially picky of what I was going to wear. I finally decided on: ripped skinny jeans with the ankles rolled up, my black and white adidas, and my crop top that says 'I'm Not A Morning Person' with my red and blue open plaid shirt that went over my crop top. I then added some bracelets, a few rings, and a couple necklaces. I also added some simple makeup trying to make my eyes pop. Finally I curled my rib long brown hair with blonde highlights so my hair didn't look as messy. After looking in the mirror and being satisfied with how I looked I grabbed my book bag and then rode the railing down the stairs and walked into the kitchen where I grabbed a banana and started heading for the door.
"Honey, aren't you going to say bye to your father before you leave for school," my dad said while sipping his coffee leaning against the counter.
"I'm most likely going to see you at school" I replied chuckling while planting a kiss on his cheek. "Bye, dad see you later, I love you"
"Love you too honey"
I climbed into my lifted 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock, I threw my bag into the passengers seat and started the engine. After about 10 minutes I pulled into the school's parking lot. After turning off the engine and taking my key out of the ignition I grabbed my bag and hopped out of my truck and locked the door. I stood there not moving for a few moments. This school was a lot bigger than my old school. This school had an older look to it, it was the color of brick red and there was a big sign in yellow font above the main doors that read 'Redwood High School'. After exciting my trance I started to walk towards the doors while trying to pull out my phone to find my schedule. I finally got my schedule pulled up but I had no idea where to go. I guess I kind of looked kind of lost because these three girls approached me with warming smiles.
"Hi" they all said in unison in perky happy voices.
"Hi" I replied while smiling at them.
"We noticed you looked kind of lost," the girl with black hair on the right said.
"Yeah I am, I'm new to this town and I don't really know how to navigate myself," I replied sort of chuckling.
"Let us see your schedule," the girl with blonde hair in the middle said. I showed them my schedule on my phone and they started to smile.
"You have your first three classes with me," the girl with black hair said.
"You have your next two classes with me," the girl with the blonde hair chimed in.
"You have your next two classes with me, and then all four of us have our last class together," the girl on the left with the brown hair said. I started to smile.
"Looks like we're going to be friends," the girl with brown hair said with a smile from ear-to-ear.
"Oh by the way, I'm Cynthia Rose," the girl with blonde hair said. "I'm Michelle Taylor but all my friends call me Mitchie," the girl with black hair said. "And I'm Elizabeth Perez but all my friends call me Beth," the girl with the brown hair said, while all three of them flashed me big warming smiles.
"I'm Emma Bermingham," I said returning the warming smile.
They all looked at each other and then at me. Cynthia grabbed my wrist and we all started to head inside. They showed me to the front office where I had to fill out some paperwork, they then showed me to my locker where they helped me set it up. I then helped them set theirs up too since it was everyone's first day of school. They showed me around the school showing me classrooms and introducing me to my teachers, they show me the lunch room and the gym. Once we exited the gym the warning bell rang which meant we had 5 minutes to get to class or we would be tardy.
