Maggie's morning had started with the fire alarm waking her up instead of her usual morning alarm. She ran out of her bedroom to see her mom asleep on the couch nesting a bottle of wine with a lit cigarette in her hand. She sighed, though she happy there was wasn't an actual fire in their small apartment, she still had to deal with her mother and what was becoming an everyday routine at this point.

Taking the cigarette out of her mom's hand and putting it in the ashtray along with the many other ones, she tried to shake her awake, "mom, wake up. You need to get ready for work." Maggie said in a frenzy. She tried once again to wake her up but she was out cold, the other empty wine bottle discarded on the living room table was another sign that Maggie's mom was not waking up anytime soon.

Shaking her head to herself as she tidied the living room the best she could before realising she was going to be late for school. She tried her best to turn her mother on her side, placing a bucket on the floor beside her, a bottle of water and medication on the table, before calling her moms work and leaving a note on the fridge, reminding her to drink water and that she'd be home soon.

As if her day could get any worse, Maggie was left unaware of Puck's prank as she walked through the choir room doorway and slipped right onto the floor, landing on her back. "What the hell?" She groaned confused while trying to sit up.

Sam, who saw her on the floor in the corner of his eye ran over to help her up. "You're very graceful, Miller." He smiled, holding out his hand for her to take.

"Ah, thank you, Sam," she laughed, trying to hide her embarrassment as she took his hand and stood up. "Falling is one of my many, many talents."

Sam placed his hands on her shoulders tightly, "you're okay though, right? No concussion? Bumps or bruises?" He asked while closely examining her face.

"No... just an extremely bruised ego," she shrugged, making the boy laugh.

Maggie slumped into her usual seat besides Finn, her head heavy with worries about her mom and if she's even woken up yet. She'd never seen her mom's drinking get this bad before and she didn't know who to go to for help. It's only been her and her mom since her dad died and shes been able to handle it on her own so far, but she didn't know how long her mom could carry on this way.

Maggie was too deep in thought to even notice the tall blonde woman glide through the buttered floor with ease, until Finn elbowed her telling her to look up.

"Hola, classe! Lets start with some introductions! My name is Holly Holiday, whats yours?" She asked, a few people mimicking other people in response. "Those aren't your names. I know because I recently watched a video of you guys performing at regionals... where you came in last. Maybe it's because those songs were about 30 years old but-"
