forests are known for its tranquillity in both day and night, the day's light is split by the trees into spectacles, the animals are unbound by life's questions, hunters follow the rules of life given to them by their long-gone ancestors. The night is often contrasted as an opposite of day, but in truth, the most opposite is just the absences of the lighter side. This does not make the night any less valued in what it has to offer. The night is where most living things take the time to rest and, for others it's a time to come alive but, tonight one unique creature uses this night as a chance at freedom.
The night was silent as not a single sound of life could be heard. All but one, a blur of fur passed through the trees followed by a squad of quad cars, the creature was fast, as it's agility allowed it to weave through the forest rough terrain, but something can't be weaved. The creature stopped when it came face to face with a cliff wall the creature looked left and right to see no end in sight but it then looked up to see that the cliff was around thirty feet tall, the creature looked back to see that its pursuers were far, but their speed would make others uncomfortable. The creature, on the other hand, was quite comfortable. The creature's back legs made a bone splitting and skin tearing sound before changing into what could be best described as huge insectoid legs. Using it's new found legs it jumped up just reaching the edge of the cliffside and crawled the rest of the way up, the quad drivers saw the creature's jump and pulled their guns out and blazed the creature with rounds, most were a miss but a few hit the creature's back and pierced through its chest, the creature coughed up blood on the cliffside before reaching the top. The creature couldn't feel it legs anymore so it changed again, it's back legs withered away and with its four new legs that grew on it's back this time taking the form of spider legs, but even with the spider legs, it didn't move like a spider rather it was more a limbing-jogging motion. With its desperate attempt at gaining distance from its hunter, the undeniable reality was setting in its mind, the creature was dying. Its limbing motion slowed down to crawl and then collapsed. Another strange thing occurred when the creature's body began to change again, this time into two being one was human with teared up short and the other was a strange blob which soon took the shape of a dog but the dog had no fur instead it was muscle. The dog-thing looked down upon the dying man.
"Find...host"
The dog heard the sound of grappling hooks connect to the cliff's edge. This caused the dog's flight instinct to kick in. The dog ran for the darkness of the woods as it escaped.
The grappling hook's rope vibrated as the men climbed up the cliffside, four men reached the top. The four were covered in head to toe in swat gear. the men came upon the body of the dead man.
"We found subject 626-1" one of the men went to check for a pulse.
"He's dead"
"Jackson, Check for 626" the commander ordered.
Jackson brought out the scanner, the scanner went up and down on the body. After a few seconds, the scanner gave results.
"626 is gone, but I've picked up a track of footprint. From the looks of these tracks it's quadrupedal, around the size of a large canine, from the distance of each step I guess a running speed of around forty-five Miles Per Hour and it seems to be heading northwest from here. My best guess is that it's taken a form similar to that of greyhound"
"Jackson and I are going to track 626 down and you two are going to take care of the body, we don't want another 'incident " the commander ordered his men and they did as followed, one groaned at the reference. The commander and Jackson with the scanner ran after 626 but they stopped when they came upon where 626 went. they cursed under their breath as they looked out towards the bright neighbourhood lights of Royal Woods.

Lincoln was having trouble sleeping in the backyard, you'd think after spending two nights in the same spot it would get comfortable but no, doing the same thing again doesn't make it change. Charles wasn't asleep either; he just stared at the fences of the backyard, with an occasional ear twitch there and then. Charles out nowhere ran into the broken part of the fence and left Lincoln all alone if only that were true for on the opposite side of where Charles disappeared was where a large dog jumped over the fences and hid in the shadows from the moon's light. All the while Lincoln slumped up against the tree, easy prey. The dog's feet change into spikes to avoid making noise with the grass. The creature's mastery of the hunt was mirrored with its movement dead silent and it's breathing nonexistent. As it got closer it never lowered its body to get in a pouncing position, it approached the boy as if it was an adult approaching a lost child. The creature made its way around the tree, the creature was now on the right side of Its prey. The creature watched as the boy turned its head and gazed upon the creature and his reaction was to no surprise.
The boy was about to scream but the creature had already taken this as a possibility, it's head split into four petals and each petal's belly produced a memorising and hypnotic bioluminescent. The boy slumped as he was hypnotised by the patterns of lights before him, while this was happening at the epicentre of the petal was a stinger, below the stinger's base was the green glow that would soon find a new home. The stinger eeled outwards toward the boy's arm, as this was happening the creature body took a seating position but a closer look would reveal that the part of the creature that was touching the ground was melding itself to the earth. The stinger reached its target and with it, the green glow left the stinger's base and made its way into the arm, the glow faded as it went up the arm. The moment the glow left the stinger is when the creature's body began to merge the rest of itself with the earth, soon the creature body became one with earth and left It's prey alone with its gift.
The green glow itself wasn't liquid of digestive fluid nor was it a killing agent, the green glow was, in fact, a multi-celled retrovirus, the virus assimilated a blood cell to trick the immune system into thinking it a part of the body. The virus then made its way to the brain's centre and once it did the creature anchored itself to the brain and began to grow slowly.
A/N new story for the multiverse, this isn't a crossover to anything but 626 was an old OC I thought of, he hasn't changed at all in this story, so enjoy and hope for future updates
(Edit did some spelling grammar fixing and got rid of that stupid joke)
