Ukraine's POV:
I had just walked out of the hospital with my family, apologizing about the fact that I ran off, we go to the car, and are starting to get in when we see America's car, race past on the larger road. Leaving skiddmarks on the pale concrete. Disappearing around a tight corner into town.
I look at Belarus in confusion
"I wonder what's wrong with America? That's not what normally happens with him?"
Belarus glances over at me, "Why do you care about him? We don't associate with his family."
I glare daggers at him "Sense he helped I'm in the elevator with one of my panic attacks, although i don't think he knew it at the time."
Belarus looks at me quizzingly, a slight tilt in his eyebrows.
I glare at him again.
Because Russia had the accident, he's not allowed to drive, so Belarus gets in, ducking his head into the drivers seat, and buckling Russia into the car, who has both arms in slings. I duck into my seat and Belarus starts to drive off, as we get onto the road, in the right hand lane out of the corner of my eye I see a streak of red and white, turning my head I see a scaly tail disappear into the tall grass beside the road, the end tipped in long spikes. I shiver, not knowing what it was.
But unknown to me, golden and black eyes watched me carefully from the grass, they glint with a fierce green protection then dissolved back into gold.
After we got home from picking up some supply's for Russia, and some more food, after we set Russia down in his room, and as Belarus and I start to cook we turn on the news.
As I start to cut tomato's for a simple meatloaf, I turn to the teli and continue cutting, and as I had almost finished, the breaking news rolls loudly across the screen. And as i put the cutting board down, the news anchor begins to talk.
"Today on breaking news, after yesterday mornings incident at the meeting, Canada has gone missing from the hospital he was in, for critical care. Something we have never seen before is happening— oh we are getting a call in, displaying on the screen behind us is the picture we have just received from Canada's family."
They show a slightly blurry picture, but it's sharp enough to show the thing the camera was focused on. A large red and white animal, with blood red scales and a snow colored underbelly and red leaf on its face. Canada, my pure, sweet, beautiful Canada was turned into a demon creature, made of nightmares.
They continue
"As you can see, there is now a monster running on the loose, we believe that this may have been Canada, or one of his provinces, as they have also turned up missing in his family's home, were they were last seen yesterday, sick in bed."
My eyes water slightly and I turn back to cooking, as the weather turns back on, just the remanentes of Dorian hitting Canada and doing some damage ,along with the new storm Humberto, combing to wreck the Bahamas and the side of the US again.
Belarus looks at me, the tears in my eyes , and goes and hugs me.
"You love him don't you? Somehow that little persistent kid slipped in, didn't he?"
I just nod into his chest and the tears just silently flow out of my eyes.
"Hmm, you know that I don't hate them don't you? I know I act like it, but Russia and America don't have a good past, but... I don't hate them, they should've been good friends, but Father ruined that chance."
I nods again, mumbling "I know, I'm sorry. He just was one of the first to help me in independence."
Belarus looks down at me, pulling me closer to his chest and tucking me under his chin, whispering "Shh-shh baby it's ok little one, Shh-shh, just let it out."
Belarus mutes the television with one hand as I slump down, the weight of my body pulling him down with me, so I'm resting in his lap, my head on his shoulder.
I slowly go to sleep, slumped tiredly in the warm protective arms of my older brother, my burned out body just giving up.
736 words, wow, I have nothing to say... it's taken me what, two weeks to write this? Sorry I have just been feeling burnt out lately, although this helped!!
