"Come on Cass!" My best friend, Lexi, screamed from the other side of my bathroom door. "We need to leave now if you want to make it to Evan's house before he leaves for his flight!"
"Okay, okay! I'm almost done!" I screamed back.
After I was satisfied that my hair was straightened enough, and my makeup was perfect, I unlocked the bathroom door and ran to my room to get my car keys. I grabbed them off my dresser and ran downstairs, out the front door and hopped in my car. Which Lexi was already blaring her music in.
As I began to back out of the driveway, I felt like I was forgetting something, but I couldn't remember what. "Shit... I left my phone upstairs! Be right back."
I ran upstairs and grabbed my phone and then practically sprinted back to my car. I hopped into the drivers seat and backed out again.
"Sorry Lexi, just had to make sure everything was perfect. I mean this will be the last time I see him in person for over four months!" I explained.
"It's okay, I just don't want you to be late. What are you planning again?"
I took a deep breath before I launched into my plan. "Alright, so when we get there, it will be about 15 minutes before he is scheduled to arrive. All of his favorite foods are in the cooler and bags in the backseat, so when we get there, we need to hurry and get everything out. Then I'm going to take it all into his room and then up onto the ledge above his bedroom window and set up like a little picnic on the roof or whatever. He's gonna be so surprised. I had to cover all of this up and say that I was leaving town last night and I couldn't be here the day that he's leaving. So he thinks that we said goodbye for the last time last night."
"Dang, you're really going all out for him aren't you." Lexi's boyfriend, Walker, commented.
"Eeeeeh! I'm so happy for you Cass! I'm so glad that you found someone who makes you happy." Lexi exclaimed as we pulled into Evan's neighborhood.
"Me too! I was beginning to think that I would never have a boyfriend." I said while chuckling to myself.
We pulled onto his road and drove all the way down to the end into one of my friend from school's driveway. I talked to her this morning and she said that I could park there so that Evan wouldn't be suspicious when he got home.
Lexi, Walker, and I gathered the goods from the backseat, but left the cooler because we couldn't carry everything at once. His mom is in on the surprise and said that she would leave the back door open for me. We walked up to his bedroom and put everything on his bed for now.
The roof is a special place for Evan and I. To the right of his bedroom window is a small ledge that you can step on to get to a bigger area of the roof that is mostly private and no one can see you up there. It's the perfect amount of space for two people to be able to comfortably lay down on. We have been dating for seven months and a good part of our relationship has been spent sitting on the roof, either talking, watching movies, or just sitting in silence watching the stars. So, I thought it would be the perfect place for a going away surprise.
And maybe even a little something extra special, if you know what I mean.
"Okay Lexi, I'm going to climb onto the roof and then you can hand me all of the stuff."
I opened the window, and hopped on up. Lexi handed me the blanket and the two baskets of food. Along with some other things like a few movies.
"Cassidy, we're going to get the cooler. We'll be right back!" Walker shouted from inside Evan's bedroom.
I laid out the blanket and was setting up a few other things when I heard smacking sounds from below me. I was confused, but then rolled my eyes, and started to climb back down towards the bedroom. That was really quick. I wonder how they got down and back the street that quickly.
"Lexi, Walker, now is not the time for that. Did you get the cool-" My heart dropped as I peered inside the window.
"Cassidy? Wha- What are you doing here?" Evan asked as he pulled his shirt back on and moved in front of the girl he was just heavily making out with. As if he was trying to make me unsee it.
"I thought you left yesterday to go to your aunts house?"
A single tear fell from my eye, but quickly swiped it away as I said, "No, I was gonna surprise you on the roof, but it appears you have better things to do."
As I tried to shove him out of the way to leave the bedroom he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back in. "It's not what it looks like, I swear!"
"Really, then what is it? Who is this girl and why was she on your roof?" The girl questioned.
"Who am I? No, who are YOU and what are you doing with MY boyfriend?"
"Your boyfriend? What? He's my boyfriend."
"Wha-" I started as another person walked into the room.
"What are you guys talking about? He's MY boyfriend!" The girl said.
All three of us stared at each other and then one by one turned to look at Evan. His face paled and opened his mouth. Then closed it. Then sighed.
"Get out." He said. "All of you. I was just having my fun. I never really liked any of y'all anyways."
We all stared at him and then calmly got up and walked out of the room as if we all had the same idea. While walking out of the room, Lexi and Walker turned the corner of Evan's hallway.
"Who are you guys?" Lexi asked the two girls that I still don't know the names of.
"I'm Chloe. I was dating Evan up until a few minutes ago." The first girl said. She had long blonde hair, brown eyes and is a bit shorter than me.
"And I'm Emma. I was also dating Evan up until a few minutes ago." She had medium length black hair and dark blue eyes. She's about the same height as me.
"You already know me" I said to Lexi and Parker,"but i'm Cassidy. And I was ALSO dating Evan. But well now I'm not because that son of a bitch cheated on me with these two bitches."
"Excuse me-" "Maybe you're the bitch here!" Chloe and Emma exclaimed at the same time.
"I'm sorry guys, i'm just really angry at the situation right now. We should be angry at Evan, not each other. It's not like we knew about each other anyways."
"Right" Emma and Chloe chorused at the same time.
