To the Past We Go

From One Hokage to Another

"No. It started way before then. It started years before anyone saw it coming. You could say it started when Obito was found by Madara. It might have began when Rin was made a jinchūriki and was killed. We don't know when it started for sure, but we do know that we can change it now. We will change it. Our friends will not have died in vain. I promised to bring an end to this war, and I never go back on my word. That's my ninja way!" Naruto's words warmed everyone's hearts. Minato and Kushina didn't know it was possible, but they just became even more proud of their son.

   Hinata just fell deeper in love with her husband. He always reminded her why she fell in love with him all those years ago. Sometimes she was a little angry at it. She could never be angry at him because he was just a great guy and was simply too cute to stay mad at.

"As for the rest... I don't think Hinata and I are ready for that just yet." Naruto said. Just thinking about everyone they lost was hard enough, he wasn't sure they would be able to tell it from the start.

"It's alright. We understand." Minato said walking over to him putting a hand on his shoulder.

   That tiny gesture made him remember when he first met his parents. When he was learning how to controlling Kurama and using his power without going a wall. Right before Minato disappeared he put his hand in Naruto's shoulder, and told him he believed in him. Naruto was so overwhelmed with all the emotions he started getting a headache from keeping in the tears.

   "I should probably speak to the Hokage. He needs to know about our... situation." Naruto said letting go of Hinata.

   "I want to come too." Hinata said.

   "No. You need to get some rest. Your still hurt." Naruto shook his head.

   Hinata thought about it before nodding her head. "Hurry." She whispered. She was used to him being with her and didn't like the idea of not having him around. She's grown rather fond of him.

"Of course. Can't keep a lady waiting." Naruto winked. Then a mischievous smirk found its way upon Naruto's lips.

"What are you planning? And don't deny it! I know that look all too well." Hinata stared at her husband giving him the look. On the inside however she was overjoyed. She hasn't seen that look in forever. She actually missed it.

"Love ya! Get some rest." Naruto gulped before disappearing in a puff of smoke making Hinata sigh and shake her head.

"We should follow him. That look is way too familiar." Minato sighed giving Hinata an 'I understand' look.

"Yeah." Kushina chuckled knowing whatever their future son was about to do he most likely got it from her. "See you later Hinata. It was nice meeting you."

"You too Kushina-San and Minato-Sama." Hinata bowed her head because that was the most respectful thing she could do with her injuries.

"I like her." Kushina smiled once they got out of the hospital. "Naruto did good."

"He did." Minato nodded.

   Naruto appeared in a puff of smoke in the Hokage's office. In seconds ANBU had 'cornered' him. He raised his arms up in an 'I'm harmless' way, but his smirk was messing it up.

   "Boy does this bring back memories." Naruto laughed.

   "Can I help you with something?" Hiruzen asked not amused.

   "Yeah, could you please remove your ANBU I have certain news that should remain between a select few. They can still look. I'll just have to put up a silence jutsu." Naruto said.

   Hiruzen eyed him suspiciously and thought about it. "Fine." He sighed.

   "Thank you." Naruto bowed his head.

   "So what was the reason you came so suddenly to my office when I don't even know who you are?" Hiruzen asked once the ANBU were gone and Naruto put up a silencing barrier.

   "My name is Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze. The short version of how I came here is that I'm from the future, and the war from my time is so bad that my friend sent me and my wife to the past to stop the war from ever happening." Naruto said.

   The Hokage stared at Naruto blankly. 'This is either the craziest lie I've ever heard or the weirdest thing that I've ever seen.' Hiruzen thought. "Do you have any proof?" Hiruzen asked really hoping he was lying.

   "Hmmm... I guess not." Naruto said.

   "I'm proof enough kit." Kurama grumbled.

   "Oh, right! In that case, yes, I do have proof." Naruto grinned.

   "Let's see it then." Hiruzen sighed.

   Knock knock knock

   "Come in." Hiruzen called as Naruto took down the silencing jutsu.

   "Hey mom, dad and Kakashi." Naruto waved.

   "Ya could have waited on us ya know!" Kushina scolded.

   "Sorry. I didn't know you were coming ya know!" Naruto said.

Kushina's day was just made. 'He said ya know. He's definitely my child.' Kushina thought.

"Naruto was just about to tell me his proof." Hiruzen said.

"Oh yeah." Naruto said less energetic. This proof was going to tell his parents that his mom is dead. Then he was probably going to have to tell them that his dad was dead too.

   "What's wrong Naruto." Minato asked.

   Naruto looked at the floor. He hesitantly lifted his  shirt up and and channeled a little bit of chakra through his body making the seal appear.

   "That's the seal that keeps the Kyuubi in, but it's on Kushina." Minato gulped not liking where this is going.

   "So I guess I'm not around much in the future." Kushina smiled sadly.

   "You were so strong mom. After giving birth to me and having the Kyuubi taken out of you, you were still able to protect me from being killed by him." Naruto smiled softly wishing his mom and dad could have been in the war. They would have helped so much, he also would have been able to actually meet them.

   "I'm going to need an explanation. I have no idea what's going on." Hiruzen rubbed his head.

"I'll tell you what I told them. The rest of the story, you may need Inoichi for." Naruto warned.

"Dog." Hiruzen called. In a second an ANBU in a dog mask showed up. "Fetch me Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka please." The ANBU nodded and left.

"Flamingo, get me a giant cup of coffe. The strongest we have." Hiruzen said. A huge buff man appeared in a flamingo mask; then, nodded and disappeared. 'This is going to be a long day.' Hiruzen sighed.
