The roads were wet and the night sky was black with clouds overhead. Mac Rodgers was making her way home after a long day of work. She focused her eyes on the road ahead of her, getting closer to her home she began to feel more comfortable on the wet road. she made her last turn down her road and made it home safe. she shut off her car, grabbed her bag and stepped out of her car. the trees rustled with the cold breeze that the rain brought in. she walked up to her doorway and stood on the first step taking in the nice cool air on her neck. She shivered to bring herself back to earth. she pulled her keys out of her backpack and prepared for the bombardment of her two little ones. she let out a deep sigh and grew a genuine deep smile. ready to see the two kiddos. opening the door, to her surprise, there was no bombardment. she looked over to see her nanny, Mary, sitting on the couch reading a book with a blanket over her lap. "hey, where are the kiddos?" mac asked setting her bag down on the coffee table while slipping off her shoes. "oh they're in your room, doing something." she closed her book and began to get herself off of the couch. Mac reached into her bag to get her wallet out getting some money to pay the nanny for the night. " here you are, mary. thanks for your time." Mac handed her $70 and opened the door for her to see her out. " Thank you Ms.Rodgers. The kids were fed and bathed and Christopher had a few hours on the PlayStation." Mary said as she made her way out the door. letting it close gently behind her.
Mac made her way to her bedroom, she heard giggling coming from her room. she smiled when she opened the door to reveal Bella and Christopher sitting on a shelf in her closet. " what're y'all doin' in there?" she asked with a smile. They turned and smiled at her not moving from their spot. "We're playing with the hole!" Mac drew a concerned look on her face "Wait what do you mean?" she walked over to the closet to see what they were doing. When she approached the closet she saw a panel, it was colorless, it wasn't black or white, it wasn't grey or blue, it was colorless. she couldn't comprehend what she was looking at. " go to bed." she said to the two. they frowned and hopped off of the shelf. " okay.." they dragged their feet back to their room. She refused to take her eyes off of it. when she heard their bedroom door shut she stepped closer to the void. she reached her arm out to touch as she got closer she pulled her hand back hesitantly, however, her curiosity got the better of her. she stretched her fingers out to lightly graze the space. her finger passed right through, she reached back with a gasp. she looked around to see what the kids have been playing with, she grabbed the ball and threw it through the void. she waited a few seconds, it felt like hours but sure enough, the ball came right back through unharmed. It bounced and rolled underneath her bed. Mac didn't hesitate this time and walked right up to it to inspect further. when she passed her hand through it this time she didn't hesitate to push her arm in further watching her forearm and bi-cep passed through the void she felt around, wherever her arm was. she felt fabric. she decided to crawl through. she peaked her head in and was met with a face full of fabric, she used her hands to push apart the fabric to reveal what seemed to be another house, for a second she thought she had found a weird room in her house with a really freaky doorway. she stepped up and onto the shelf that was in her closet and made her way through the passageway crawled through. Mac looked around the room she found herself in. she crept slowly making her way into what looked like a mirror image of her own room, except for some minor differences. She looked at the house plants that deserved a second glance, they had a house plant look to them, they were noticeably house plants but the plant itself looked odd. kinda out worldly. she looked around the room to investigate more and noticed a bookshelf, she walked closer to it to take a look at the books on the shelf. The books writing were weird circular patterns, she brushed it off thinking that it was just some weird book covers. "What are you doing in here? " she heard from the corner. Mac turned her head looking toward where the voice originated. It was a small child in a diaper, the child looked normal at a glance but the longer she looked the more subtle differences she noticed the child had pitch-black eyes, no pupils, no eyelashes, just pitch-black eyes, and their ears flared instead of swirled . " uh.." she muttered. "I'm gonna get my dad!" the child exclaimed without thinking Mac rushed to the kid and tried picking them up to comfort them to assure them that she wasn't a threat but as she tried to pull up she noticed she couldn't lift, almost like the kid was superglued to the floor. "damn, you weigh a ton." Mac let out. the kid got flustered and started to scream. "Daddy! there's someone in your room!" Mac backed away from the kid and looked around the room for the entrances. she heard the sound of someone rushing to their room. she clasped her hands in front of her as to not pose a threat. The bedroom door swung open to reveal a man that looked similar to the child, just older of course.
"Who are you?!" the man exclaimed with a concerned expression on his face. Mac unclasped her hands and held them out to her side to begin to explain. "I came from the closet," she said, she listened to what she had said and wondered if it it sounded as weird to him as it did to her. He furrowed his brow "what... what do you mean?" Mac pointed at the closet. " the closet, I came from in there." The man walked over to the closet, a look of excitement growing on his face. "of course! where did you come from?" He asked again this time with a smile and a schoolboy like cheer. Mac pointed again " the damn closet!" she exclaimed. He shook his head and grasped her shoulders. "No! I mean what planet! where... where did you come from!" Mac shook his hands off her shoulders "Earth you loon, now are you going to let me go or are you gonna keep me here?!" She said thinking about the children that would be wondering where she was at when they wondered into her room late at night with nightmares. The man scratched his nape in thought. " only if it's still working."
