You hear the sound of your air conditioner kicking on in the middle of the night. You lay in bed stuck in the realm of your dream world while your body lies in the real world aware of every sense. You hear the gentle hum of the air conditioner outside your window and begin to feel the benefits of the AC cool your cheeks. Your dreams flutter across your eyelids. You're on an alien planet wandering around the weird corners of your own imagination. Nothing is linear here, anything can happen. As you realize your powers here, images of your worst fears begin to lurk in the corners of your eyes.
Your air conditioners shuts off. Silence.
Now playing with your own superpowers in your dream world but not really getting a hold of it, stuff begins to go wrong. Your abilities to turn objects into whatever you want to , halt. A dark overcast fills your dream but it doesn't take long for you to realize this is just your eyes beginning to open, moving your eyes around peaking through the cracks of your eyelids. Your dreams begin to spill out. Those dark images of your worst imagination that were once lurking in the corner of your eye are now in the corner of your poorly lit room.
Creeping across the carpet of your bedroom floor is a figure. You try to look away but your muscles don't respond. It feels like someone is slowly pushing earbuds into your ears then. silence. still staring at this figure move closer and closer slowly. you begin to feel your heart pound in your chest. you take a deep breath and shut your eyes to avoid this thing, you open your eyes for a second look at this thing. It's gone. Your eyes dart across your room checking the corners. As your eyes make their way to the final corner of your bedroom you see its' head. at the foot of your bed. still paralyzed. you just stare. And it smiles with grotesque teeth lit by the small light you have in a wall plug.
[small but sweet >:D. hopefully one-day people will stop making sleep paralysis jokes, cause as someone who suffers from this for real. I will say, it's not that funny. this is just a tame version of one of my actual episodes. sleep well.]
