Between a Recues And A Hard Place

Chapter: #3 Scat's Got Your Tongue?

-Kiera's POV-

It's been a while since I've seen many humans... They've all fled the area in fear of me.
I walk down the abandoned street, glancing from house to house silently. Many of the houses are overgrown with plants and beginning to crack and crumble from the occasional practice shot. I "smile" to myself as I continue on, striding through the kingdom wall's tiny door.
I should try and find someone.
Yes. I should.
Perfect.
The outside of the wall has many plants growing on it, all of them vibrant colors. I silently walk towards the thick forest, looking around as my dark brown hair shifts around on my back and shoulders. I glare slightly, knowing fairly well that the few humans who stuck around didn't know how to kill me. You see, I don't need blood or oxygen like the rest of you living things. I don't even know how I'm alive. But what I do know is that I can't be killed by a stab through the heart. It hurts like hell, though it doesn't kill me... And so many have tried.
I chuckled before making an illusion around myself to look like a ferret, "bounding" into the forest while looking around constantly. I feel the presence of someone's soul nearby and go towards it, stopping once I see a tall individual with black eyes and white pupils. He growls as he turns in my direction, his gaze turning down to look at the illusion of the ferret. I only then notice just how tall he was, at least four feet taller than me. I make my ferret illusion back up as I do and as he steps coser, not wanting him to figure out my ruse.
"Hello there," I stop as he speaks "Have you seen a human with orange hair recently? Kind of obnoxious?"
Behind the illusion my eyes glint with evil.
I make the illusion shake it's head and the person sighs in response "Alright, then."  He Looks towards the kingdom walls, his pupils turning to slits.
"She's one awful human..." I make the ferret nod and move closer to him... My stained eyes narrow, dang this kid is annoying.
"My father said that I'm not careful enough outside of home. Or at home, really..."
You got that right. Heh.
"You're one odd ferret, you know." His pupils shine slightly, his hands darkening. "Almost human."
Oh no.
I make my disguise disappear as he shoots a cluster of thorned vines right through my heart, my eyes narrowing. I speak as he turns towards me "You are one smart kid, you know," he growls as I continue "But you couldn't even kill a human."
I may not need it but it definitely hurts when someone tries to kill me with a stab through the heart. Why do they try it every single time.
He runs at me as I raise a hand, the vines catching fire and burning up. That humanś magic is really strong. Hahaha, using his own friend's magic against him sure startles the life out of him(not literally, sadly.), he stops. "You... You killed Lucas!"
Gee, people always think us villains only kill people, how insulting. Well I don't kill anyone. I dodge one of his anger attacks, the easiest to dodge, in my opinion. His pupils flame with rage as I dodge another attack. "JUST LET ME KILL YOU, DAMNIT!" His rage reminds me of another's... I use his friend's magic against him again, throwing a ball of red flame at the ground in front of him. I feel his friend's soul writhing within my own, screaming for me to stop within his mind. I don't, happily watching a circle of redfire surround the kid while he glares at me with vines surrounding his hands.
"Tell me your name."
"He doesn't have to tell you anything, creep."
I jerk my head up as the new voice, recognizing it.
"Ooh, Chorus! You decided to join us today! How's your voice doing?"
"Go back to your castle, Kiera."
"Oh, it's not mine, remember? It's the castle you and your "friends" kept me in when you brought me here, remember? The place I was forced to stay in FOR THREE DAYS OF UNENDING PAIN, REMEMBER?"
Both stumble back at my sudden anger, I almost do the same before turning and seeming to disappear to them to run away.
I hear the kid's voice screaming "COWARD!" as I do.
What a perfectly good waste of two perfectly good souls.
