TW: character death and possibly suicidal thoughts
It had been a week or two since the apocalypse started, and it had spread ever since. It was almost everywhere now. Goiky was no acception. Everyone was split up, some hiding in forests, in X's baskets, or anywhere else a hiding place could be scrounged up.
Death and zombies rampaged the land. No open area was safe, unless you were armed with a weapon or two in which most had zero access to.
In the forest, the two hosts hid in the safety of the leaves of a fairly tall tree, discussing. Four couldn't risk fighting. They both knew that, if they were bitten, every EXITer would die, thus, he set them free. The problem really lied on what would happen to Four himself if he got bitten.
"What, would you... Get infected? Like all the rest..? Would you still have your powers?" X warily asked, afraid of the answer.
Four, however, didn't provide one. They just shrugged, avoiding looking at X. They were scared. Both of them were. What was to happen if Four still had his powers as a zombie? Finally, Four spoke up.
"We might... Have to go back."
"Back...? Back where?" The smaller variable replied, hesitant.
"... We can go home."
X was still. On one hand, they missed home, and everyone there. But on the other hand...
"What about everyone here..? Do we just... Let them... Get hurt? Or die? Or.. get infected?"
"... We can't risk it, X. You know that. I know it's hard, but... There's nothing we can do about it..." Four replied.
They both were silent for a moment. Though it was a dire situation, the forest was mostly calm. A few birds chirped, the leaves rustled a bit in the cool wind. The few noises that made this seem out of the ordinary were the occasional groans of zombies.
"I guess we'll go then..." Four said, taking hold of X's hand and opening a portal. "Are you ready?"
X nodded in confirmation. Though they felt guilty for leaving, they were exited to go home and see their friends again.
"Alright. Let's go."
And they were gone.

Most of The Losers sat under one of X's baskets, with the exception of Leafy and Eggy, who went their own ways. When the eliminated contestants were brought back, nobody was quite sure what to think about Loser. Yet he was quickly accepted back onto the team as they all hid together. It was almost as if the whole lying thing had never happened.
However, things were bad. A grave atmosphere hung over the team. Food had already run out. And judging from the banging on the outside of the basket, it wasn't safe to scavenge.
Clock looked around for anything he could scrounge up. He hadn't eaten much the past few days, trying to save up food, but still, it was hopeless. He sighed, and decided to confide in Loser for advice.
Walking over, he noticed Loser drawing something in the dirt. Still, he was alone right now, so it was the best time to approach him.
