Today is Sunday. Cameron always drives us to the mall around 2:00pm on Sundays because he swears that it's less busy. I'm going to go shopping at new stores, like Hollister and PacSun to get more 'socially fitted' clothing and creep on the old ladies in the food court.

As I'm waiting for Cameron to show up, I'm also day dreaming about how sweet my new life will be, my mother abruptly stops my daze by annoyingly waving her hand in front of my face.

"Yes, mother?" I was in no mood at all to talk right now, I had my mind set straight to my priorities. Never have I ever treated my mum so poorly before. But I have to get my attitude on the line before we move in with Brock. That IS how pretty girls act, right? Sassy and pompous?

"I asked you a question. Mila Silverston, you will not ignore me any longer." she barked back at me. I wasn't used to seeing this side of my mother, but she's stressed because she has never lived with any man before other than my father. He left us when I was a little girl, it didn't have a great effect on me in my earlier years, but I feel a pain in my chest every time I think about it now that I understand.

"I'm sorry, I'm just thinking about some stuff. I ate breakfast, but I'm not very hungry. Cam's picking me up in a short while."

-

*honking noise* "Bye mum! See you later!" I call out to get before running outside to head off.

"Hey babe, what's going on?" I've told him before to stop calling me babe because everyone thinks we're dating. I would never go for Cameron EVER in my life. It'd be so wrong because he's like an older brother to me.

"Hey man, let's go?" he starts up the car and we take the long way to the mall. I don't mind taking the long way with Cam because we always pass the harbour and its the most visually attractive thing in this town.

-

"Pleeeeaseeee! I really want to go in there!" I beg to him while stopping before the hollister sign. "The whole point of coming here today is to get nicer clothing for me to wear when we move!"

I drag him into the store that smells beachy and smokey. As I look around I already find a fall coat, skinny jeans, a top, and a hoodie I'd like to try on.

I go and grab all four items off the rack, and ask for a changing room. When I get in, I change from my old acid wash bootleg cut jeans, and an ugly hand-me-down sweater from my mother into the nicer clothing.

"What do you think?" I ask Cam as I spin around and model the clothes for him.

"They look great, not really your style though." he says. That's his way of telling me I look good in them, but he still thinks I shouldn't be changing for anyone. I ignore the last part of his sentence and take them to checkout.

-

"Ouch! Watch where you're going, loser!" I hear as I try to get up off of the ground. Great. Lizzie and her crew are here. "What? Are you not going to say anything back to me?" she chuckles.

"No, because I don't want to waste my time and I kind of want to go eat my lunch. So I'll see you later, Lizzie. "

Me and Cam stroll off to the food court to get some bagles and pretzels. When we finish, we leave so that he can drop me off at my house.

-

"Bye Cam, I love you! Text me later, yeah?"

"Yeah. Love you too girlie." he says back to me as he heads off to his house.

I feel quite bad about today because I got what I wanted but he never picked anything out.

"Hey you, what'd ya get this time?" mom says as I walk in the door.

"Nothing much mum. Just some new clothes, bye!" I say to her as I head up the stairs. I don't want her knowing exactly what I got because I think she'd be upset with me if she knew I was trying to change for people too.
