Tsukuyomi Volume 3: Dark Love (MHA X DC)

Chapter Three - Destiny

After their encounter with the Sons of Trigon, the Teen Titans were recovering from the attack on Titans Tower. Without any choice, Raven revealed her lineage to her teammates. With Tokoyami by her side, Raven was able to confide in her teammates. After telling her teammates about her past, they were stunned.

Beast Boy: Man.....that's pretty deep. Guess that explains why you didn't want the surprise party.

Artemis then smacks Beast Boy in the back of the head. Normally Beast Boy would reply with some smart ass comment, but he knew that his comment was not called for. 

Starfire: It's truly a sad tale, friend Raven. We are here for you. 

Cyborg: You damn straight we are! 

Artemis: Now we have to worry about tracking down these guys and take them down. I should've stuck a track arrow on one of them! 

Raven: They'll be back. They'll keep coming back until I fulfill the prophecy. They'll stop at nothing until Trigon walks the Earth and bring about the apocalypse. 

Robin: We'll be ready for them. 

Cyborg: They may have gotten the jump on us last time, but that trick only works once! 

Despite the confidence in the Titans, Raven was still concerned. She knew what her brothers were capable of. She knew that it wouldn't be simple as the others would hope it to be. Tokoyami saw distress in Raven. 

Raven: I.....I need to rest.

Robin: Cyborg and I will beef up security on Titans Tower. Even if they somehow get in, we'll be ready for them. 

Raven and Tokoyami then walked to her quarters. She invited him in when she sat in her bed. Tokoyami could see the uneasiness and distress in his friend.

Tokoyami: We'll beat them Raven. No matter what?

Raven: You saw what they could do! They won't stop! They'll keep coming and coming until they get what they want!

Tokoyami: They won't! 

Tokoyami then looked at Raven and saw tears falling down her face. The pressure from the prophecy and the threat of her brothers began to overwhelm her. Tokoyami sits down on the bed with her and hugs Raven in an attempt to comfort her.

Raven: I......I......I just......don't know.......what to......do.....

Tokoyami: It's okay Raven. It's okay. They won't touch you! I swear on my life that they won't touch you! We'll find them and we'll stop them! No matter what happens, I'll protect you with every fiber of that being!

Raven turned to Tokoyami in total shock. Hearing how much he was going to go through just to protect her moved her to further tears. 

Raven: Why......why are you willing to go through all this for me? 

Tokoyami: Because Heroes always protect those most precious to them. How could I call myself a Hero if I can't protect those I love the most.

Upon hearing this, Raven attempted to process what she just heard from Tokoyami.

Raven: W....what? You......you love me?

Tokoyami let out a sign as he knew he reached the point of no return. He looked into Raven's eyes and saw fear and confusion. He wanted nothing more than to ease her of her pain and stress.

Tokoyami: Yes.

From that single word, Raven felt a surge of emotions flowing through her. The two never once broke eye contact with one another. Tokoyami then placed his hand on Raven's face and wiped the tears from her face.

Raven: Fumikage......

Raven then grabbed Tokoyami's hand and kissed it. As if on instinct, Tokoyami and Raven moved closer for a kiss. The two felt a kind of peace that couldn't be told in words. The troubled pasts of the two seemed nonexistent. When the two finished the kiss, they were nearly overwhelmed with love towards one another.

Tokoyami: I love you Raven. No matter what happens, I'll always love you. 

When Tokoyami finished saying that, Dark Shadow manifested with a gigantic smile on his face.

Dark Shadow: So you finally made your move? About time! It took you long enough!

Tokoyami glared at Dark Shadow while Raven blushed. Dark Shadow simply laughed and disappeared. The tender moment was made awkward by Dark Shadow. 

Tokoyami: I should probably go the others make sure Titans Tower is secure. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Raven: Thank you Fumikage. Thank you. 

Before Tokoyami left, he took one more look at Raven and smiled. Raven felt peace from that kiss. Afterwards, she attempted to get some sleep. In the middle of the night, she suddenly woke up to the sound of footsteps.

Raven: Fumikage?

Raven looks around to see Jared sitting in a chair next to her bed.

Jared: Hello dear sister.

Upon hearing Jared's calm voice, Raven felt intense fear. As Raven prepared to scream for Tokoyami, Jared stopped her.

Jared: I wouldn't do that if I were you. Not unless you want me to kill all your friends. 

Raven didn't want to risk Jared attacking her friends. She had no choice but to hear him out.

Raven: What do you want?

Jared: You and I both know what I'm here for. The portal must be opened. Trigon must be released. We all know that no matter what, you will fulfill your destiny. 

Raven: I won't! There's nothing you can do that will make me release that monster into our world!

Jared: How about this dear sister? If you don't come with us, I'm going to personally kill everyone in this tower. James and Jesse will help of course, but you understand what I mean. And you wouldn't be able to stop me. All I have to do is restrain you with my magic and have James and Jesse make you watch as I make them suffer! They'll all die screaming! And as for your mate.....

Upon hearing that, Raven's fear turned to rage.

Raven: You leave him out of this! Touch him and I'll kill you!

Jared simply laughs off Raven's threat.

Jared: How cute dear sister! Don't make threats you can't keep! You're coming with us either way. Come with us willingly, and no harm will come with them. If you refuse, then we'll be forced to kill your friends. And I will make sure they'll die slowly and painfully. As for your mate, perhaps I'll make you kill him! So many options! What's it going to be dear sister?

Raven was left with little options. She could call for help, but she had no way of knowing if Tokoyami and the Titans would be able to hold off against the Sons of Trigon. Faced with no options, she decided on an answer.

Raven: Okay.......I'll go with you. Just.....just don't hurt them.....please....

Jared smiled as he and Raven begin walking out of her room and begin making their way to the exit. When they do, they are stopped by Tokoyami.

Tokoyami: Raven? What are you doing?!

Raven: I'm sorry Fumikage......I had no choice. 

Tokoyami: Raven. You don't have to do this! 

Raven: I'm sorry.

Raven then used her magic to knock out Tokoyami. As the two begin to walk away, Raven looks to the unconscious Tokoyami with tears falling down her face. She walked away, knowing that she was about to fulfill her destiny.
