Chapter 23: "The River"

Michael and I have begun swimming in the delightful jungle river, and we are starting to have so much fun together. We couldn't stop playing in the water, and laughing so hard. Michael was being such a cutie. It's so beautiful and fun.

-Man! This water is amazing! I feel so much better now!- I screamed of joy.

-I know, right? I feel great too!- He said, smiling and laughing while swimming.

It has passed several minutes inside the water, and Michael decides to leave the river because it's getting pretty dark.

-Honey, shouldn't we leave before it gets darker?- He asked.

-Nah. Give me five more minutes. Don't worry, everything will be alright-

-Okay. I'm gonna go because I'm starving. Are you sure you wanna stay for a while?-

-Yes, I'm sure. I'll be out in a few minutes.-

-Okay.-

While I stayed swimming, Michael climbs up the big tree and begins to eat a piece of fruit from the basket. He lays down on top of the tree and relaxes for a while.

He seems so calm.

Meanwhile, back on the river, I appear still inside the water by myself. The water is so refreshing, it's very hard to leave. I begin to feel calm and relaxed, but...

Suddenly, a splash was heard.

By my surprise, a crocodile approaches towards me. He seems hungry and... I had no choice but SCREAM.

I screamed as much as I could. Michael then hears my screaming from the top of the big tree. Michael stands up over the thick tree branch, and does a howling sound.

Wild Mike to the rescue!

The crocodile kept on swimming towards me while I swim to a tree vine to grab on because the animal was too fast.

It's quite terrifying. The creature didn't stop chasing me, as I try to hang on the tree vines. As long as I try to save myself from the hungry crocodile, Michael runs towards the river to save me.

Finally, I reached the tree vine and hung myself by a tree branch, while the crocodile begins jumping and jumping, trying to catch me with his powerful jaw with sharp teeth.
Michael stops nearby the river and finally found me hanging by the tree branch and screaming. I couldn't defend myself because it happened so quickly.

Michael has a plan.

Michael enters the river once again and swims towards the scene. As soon as the crocodile senses Michael's presence, Michael hides under the water. I felt blessed that Michael has come back to save me. The animal goes confused because Michael disappeared, but suddenly...

Michael pops out of the water and grabs on the crocodile. Michael begins to wrestle with the animal, trying to control his strength. While he's battling the beast, I climb down the tree and dropped over the ground. Michael then lets go of the creature and gave him a powerful stare. Michael suddenly controlled the animal and told him to no longer try to eat us, because we are different than him. The crocodile then leaves the scene and Michael swims out of the river.

He picked me up from the ground, I was covered with mud. After that, he helped me clean up the dirt because I was so paranoid.

-Thank you, Michael. You're so brave. I couldn't do anything. It was so fast and...- I said in a traumatic way.

-Easy, easy, girl. It's over. There's nothing wrong about that. I'll always be on your side no matter what. I'll teach you how to defend yourself even in a peaceful world like this.-

-Awww. Thank you, honey.-

-It's alright, sweetie. C'mon, let's go back to the tree, it's time to sleep.-

Michael then takes me back to the tree. It's already dark and we have laid on top of the big tree. We have built our tent on my top and Michael prepared the fire carefully without causing it to burn up the tree. We laid down together for the night.

Michael begins to yawn and stretch. I lay myself next to him, feeling cozy and warm.

-Well... how you feel now?- I asked while rubbing his bare chest.

-I feel... good.- He answered while feeling completely relaxed.

-Yeah, me too. It's been a wild time together, right?-

-Oh yeah, totally.-

-I see you're already part of nature. Isn't that so?-

-I guess you're right. I am part of wildlife. I can finally breath, run, climb and enjoy life like never before. I feel... free.-

-Yeah, me too. Hey, Mike, we can sleep now. I thank you for everything. You're very brave.-

-Aw, thank you. Anyway, sweet dreams, beautiful.-

-Sweet dreams, honey.-

After that small talk, we fell asleep on top of the large tree. Our journey continues.
