First up I want to talk about the film and what it means to me.
I grew up kind of sheltered my parents didn't allow me to watch scary films as a kid, which is good because a lot of kids from my school and daycare watched scary films. Which for me I'm glad my parents never showed me scary films because I'm a scared cat if you sneak behind I jump. I still don't watch scary movies because I get easily scared. The closest thing to scary films I ever watched are Secret Of The NIMH, Labyrinth, The Never ending Story, and of course The Dark Crystal.

I remember sitting in the backseat of my grandma truck holding the original Dark Crystal VHS, I was like around 4 or 5. I remember being excited to watch it and once we got back to my grandma's house my brother and I sat on the couch with a blanket and put it on. I remember being calm and enjoying it.

It was something I never seen before (I saw this before I ever watched the Labyrinth) . I was amazed by it.

I remember being it to my daycare and right after The Chamberlain get banished my teachers turned it off. I guess some kids got scared or it was almost time to go. Idk but whatever I didn't get trouble. (I hated that daycare by the way.)

Anyway I didn't watch the film a lot as a little kid. My mom when I was 10 bought me the collectors edition and my dad and stepmom got me the dvd for Christmas one year. I didn't watch the film in along time and completely forgot about it. Because I was so focused on Naruto. (Yes I'm a Naruto fan fight me.) but I remember kind of getting bored with it at points. My attention span didn't want to focus on it, but when I moved to a apartment for the 7th grade I tried showing my friends the movie and they got bored.

It wasn't until senior year of high school I fell in love with the film all over again, just how beautiful it looked and the story. Every night I would watch it and still be mind blown, my grandma even found the book on eBay and bought for me. I can proudly say The Dark Crystal is my favorite film ever.

Just the story and characters alone and just how unique it was for it's time, Hell when I started Vo-tech when I learning about film (graduated yay) the teachers asked us what our favorite film was and I proudly said The Dark Crystal. Which mind blown the teachers one of them said "I have never heard anybody say that one before." A lot of the students didn't even hear of it.

The Dark Crystal sure it has some plot holes, Sure it has some problems but it's an amazing film over all.
