People often say that you don't know that thing's importance to you unless you have lost it. And Shinichi just realized how important Rin is to him. Normally, it would be Rin who filters his calls & the people who wants to talk to him, but now he has to do it alone. It was also Rin who is his go-between during meetings with the other famiglias, but now he has to fend for himself alone. And it was just now he realized how much he relied on Rin for the tactics and strategies for their missions. Shinichi had been taking Rin's presence for granted and now she's MIA, he's wishing that she's there beside him.
"17 days... Rin where are you?" Shinichi murmured to himself as he continued to watch the CCTV video of Rin's abduction over and over. He kept on watching the video, hoping that there's something in there that would help them find Rin or help them identify the men who took her. As soon as the video ended, Shinichi started it again, thinking that maybe this time, he'd be able to find something that he didn't notice before.
Normally, in the Vongola Family, if a guardian went missing during missions, he or she would be either disavowed or proclaimed dead, but Shinichi won't let that happen and refused to even consider that. He exhausted everything in his powers to look for Rin and asked help from everyone and even went to his father and former Vongola guardians to ask for their assistance in the search and rescue. And besides, he's sure that Tsuyoshi wouldn't let him disavow Rin.
'Tsuyoshi.' Shinichi thought and winced at the memory of Tsuyoshi coming home and learning that Rin is missing. To say that Tsuyoshi threw a fit was an understatement and he could still feel pain emanating from his ribs where Tsuyoshi had punched him and smacked his cane.

Vongola Base ; Namimori, Japan; 14 Days Ago
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SAWADA?!" Tsuyoshi roared as he lunged on Shinichi and grabbed him by his collar. "WHERE THE HELL IS RIN?!"
"N—Nakamura-san, please calm down. Let go of Shinichi-san." Kazuhiko nervously said as he tried to pacify Tsuyoshi. He rarely saw Tsuyoshi get mad, but he's scared of him when he's blinded by rage, but he can't let Tsuyoshi hurt his boss.
"CALM DOWN?! DO YOU THINK I CAN CALM DOWN?!" Tsuyoshi continued to shout as he shoved Kazuhiko away. "MY GIRLFRIEND IS MISSING AND THIS IS HIS ENTIRE FAULT!" And after saying that, Tsuyoshi took out his cane and proceeded to hit Shinichi on the chest.
Nagi rushed over to them while shouting, "Stop that Tsuyoshi! Stop hurting Shinichi! Stop!" She then tried to pull Tsuyoshi away from Shinichi but the Varia boss just pushed Nagi away and then pinned Shinichi to the wall by his neck.
"I'm going to kill you Sawada. I don't care if you're the Vongola boss, I'm going to fucking kill you." Tsuyoshi growled at Shinichi, his eyes glinting maliciously. He removed his hand on Shinichi's neck but balled it into a fist and pummeled Shinichi with punches on his face and chest.
And Shinichi never bothered defending himself because he knows that it's his fault.

Upon hearing his name, Shinichi instantly looked up and stood up and saw Aya, Rin's twin sister, running towards him. "What is it Aya-san? Do you have news?" he asked, rushing over to Aya.
