The plain-looking boy slowly lifted his eyelids as he woke. Light was pouring in from the large window by the side of his bed. He turned his head slightly to see dozens of merchandise based off his hero. The room was silent. It was too silent for a dormitory that housed twenty energetic students.
His eyes widened in realisation.
"Did I just sleep in?!"
He snapped to look at his blue and yellow clock for an answer. The clock complied, and it turned out that Midoriya had woken up at his usual time. School had not started yet.
He pushed his blanket aside as he moved himself, dragging his bedraggled body across the carpet. He took off his sleeping wear and fitted himself into his uniform. As he tied his tie in front of the mirror while inspecting his reflection for any problems with the way he wore his uniform, he curved the ends of his lips upwards, forming a strong smile.
This was already a good start for the day.
He went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth alone. Feeling more awake, he considered a possible reason to the silence of the dormitory.
It was silent because it was completely deserted.
A kidnapping? He looked for his teacher's room to find it locked. The bizarre part was the nameplate.
Rather than the nameplate stating the name of who occupied the room, it simply read:
Female
Midoriya wondered what this must mean. He quickly checked the other nameplates of the rest of the rooms. Sure enough, they had all been replaced with a strange and random word.
Fantasy. Halloween. Marvel.
He had attempted to open all of them and called out the names of his peers or teacher.
"Kacchan!"
"Uraraka-san!"
"Todoroki-kun!"
"Sensei!"
There was no response. Nothing.
He had tried a door that was labelled 'Street Dance' when he stiffened. The door handle moved.
Not waiting for any clue or answer, he swung the door open.
The room did not belong to the dormitory.
The walls were white, and the pale floor did not resemble the carpeted rooms of the Heights Alliance. The most noticeable features of the room was an empty hospital bed, a monitor that Midoriya assumed was for displaying pulse lines, and a black cap with an orange X printed on its side. The cap was hanging on the side of the monitor.
It seemed like something Bakugo would wear.
Midoriya was absolutely confused. He regained his posture and left, closing the door behind him gently, but making sure it didn't shut. He didn't want to risk a clue like this being locked away.
He was curious and flabbergasted. What on earth was happening?
He dialled the police on his phone, but as he pressed it against his ear, the message saying that there was no signal played, so he shut it off.
He headed to his room to see if anything had changed. The interior was completely normal. Everything was left the way he touched them. Nothing had gone or changed.
The nameplate on his door read 'Canon'.
He wondered what correlation the term 'canon' had with him.
