Cant you see that Im done! the young women screamed down the hall. I cant do this anymore. she whispered softly
The young man approached her holding a small bundle in his arms.
You cant just leave, he said as he swayed the bundle.
I cant take it, the small space, the constant noise, and the lack of privacy.
So what, your just going to leave and never look back? He tried to not to yell.
I need to find myself. Ive lost everything Ive ever known.
She needs you. She needs a mother. he pleaded with her.
I am just a screw up, she doesnt need me. All she needs is someone to love her.
Then leave! Go back to the palace that you came from! the bundle stirred
She haunts me. The memory of him. I can feel his hands on me every time I look at her. tears started to stream down her face
You can get through this.
I cant. You don't understand. I feel the torture scars. I have nightmares.
Your medicine was working, did you stop taking it?
It was making me insane. Hes still out there you know.
I know, but im here to protect you!
You cant protect me from my mind.
She looked at the bundle as she yawned and started to make a fuss. The young man hugged the bundle tighter in his arms. The young woman closed the few steps in between them and kissed the little one on the head. She whispered her goodbyes. She walked away and to the door leading to the roof. He ran after her.
Don't do this! He screamed against the wind. The storm was getting stronger. The bundle was screaming on the top of her lungs, because the wind was whipping against her cheeks.
Clara! Stop This! She approached the edge of the ledge. She turned around. He walked toward the other side of the ledge.
If you jump, then I jump too! he yelled. She looked at him with a shocked expression.
You wouldnt! She yelled back. He took a step closer to the ledge, as if to test her. The wind grew stronger. She closed her eyes and walked back to the middle of the roof. She opened her eyes, but before she could speak, she heard a loud scream.
Noooo! The young man fell to his knees.
You! She screamed at him. She looked over the edge to see a still pink blanket with a red stain pooling around it.
