[Hideout, the next day]
Spade and his lieutenants had managed to steal enough Dust to last the group a year, maybe even more which infuriated Roman to no end. But as of this moment, the three were currently doing their own business, with Jäger working on reprogramming Penny to have her as their special ace in the hole. Spade had to go and check up on urgent matters involving the safety of their organization, while Nihil was simply sitting down in the hideout, having a chat with Emerald and Mercury who he had grown slightly fond of during their alliance with them. He would give the young assassin pointers on how to deal with trained Huntsmen and Huntresses, while with the thief he simply spent more and more time talking with her.
He admittedly had grown to be more fond of Emerald, allowing her presence around from time to time, and to his employer and his 'coworker' so to speak, it was a bit of surprise since he normally killed anyone else that got within two feet of him. As the trio talked, Nihil suddenly received a message on his Scroll causing him to pick it up and glance at it before getting up from his chair. "Have to go. Got a client." He told them, standing up as he picked up a black suitcase that was beside his chair. "Oh come on, can't you put that off? We were just getting to the best part." Mercury said, looking a bit annoyed at the sudden interruption. "It's a priority client. Can't pass it up." He told him, before picking up his blades from beside his chair as well and sheathing them. "Be careful out there." Emerald told him, as he looked at her with a faint smile behind his mask. "I will. See you later, Em." He replied, before walking off to the exit. But before he made it to the exit, he was stopped by Cinder who got right in front of him, her arms crossed. "Where do you think you're going?" She questioned him, as he simply stared at her. "Priority client." He replied, going to move around her only for her to stop him once again. "I didn't give you permission to do anything." She told him, as he narrowed his eyes dangerously. "Is that so?" He said, his voice deceptively calm, but it was as cold and sharp as steel.
"You work for me, and I will not let you do whatever you please." She replied as Nihil slowly walked up to her, his height towering over her by at least a foot. "And what will you do, if I don't...obey?" He questioned, as she went to summon to her flame but found she couldn't move. 'W-What?!' She thought, before he suddenly slammed her against the wall, with one hand keeping her arms above her head. "Let's get one thing straight; I do not serve. I am my own master, and all those who tried to control me never lived to see the next day. Even with your abilities, you are still human. Flesh and blood. I could slit your throat right now, and you would be able to do nothing." He told her, his eyes almost seeming to glow while he had one of his swords pressed against her throat as the woman felt something she hadn't felt in a long time; fear. "But I personally don't want to do that. I've grown to....like, you and this little group. So watch your tongue, my dear, or else you will lose that pretty little head of yours." He whispered into her ear, before letting her go, picking up the suitcase and sheathing his sword as he walked out the door without another word.
[Downtown Vale, a apartment building, two hours later]
The infamous assassin entered the apartment building and made his way to the third floor before making his way to the fourth door on his right, then knocked. "It's me." He simply said, before the door unlocked as a man with brown hair and blue eyes opened it, his eyes looking around frantically and nervously. "W-Were you f-followed?" The man stuttered, as Nihil simply shook his head. "No, Joe, I wasn't." He replied. "Are you going to let me in?" He asked, as the man shakily nodded. "Y-Yeah, sorry about that." He replied back, opening as he let him in, with Nihil simply going to the kitchen and sitting at the table. Joe quickly closed the door as he locked it before going and sitting down on the other side of him. "S-So you got the money?" He questioned, as the faunus merely placed the briefcase on the table before spinning it around to face him. "Of course. I'm a man of my word. There's enough for you to leave the family and live a happy life in Mistral. You know, we're going to miss you." Nihil told him, as the man swiftly went to open the briefcase. "I-I'm sorry, but I couldn't handle it anymore. T-Thank you for helping me, though. You aren't such a ba-" The man was suddenly cut off as when he opened the briefcase, a black mamba was sitting in the middle of the money stack, the reptile springing at him as it bit him four times in the face causing Joe to scream in panic, shock and pain as he fell backwards, breaking his poorly made chair.
