Loki's POV

It was a beautiful day. The soft hues of orange, pink and purple filled the star filled sky, a lovely accompaniment to the sweet smell of roses coming from the gardens. I walked around aimlessly, bored out of my mind. After living in Asgard for so long you run out of things to do.

"Did you see the look of fear on his face? It was truly a sight to behold!" Thor laughed in the distance, the cockiness filling his voice.

"Indeed it was! His maiden looked rather impressed at you Thor, is there a chance of love?" Fandral questioned, probably wanting the maiden for himself.

"No Fandral, she's all yours" Thor stated, seeing his hidden question immediately.

"Ah, it's no fun without competition my friend" he chuckled, punching Thor. I turned around, heading for my chambers. I certainly did not want to face Thor right now, the irritable brat annoys me enough as it is.

"Brother! Will thou have a right with me?" He shouted, catching up with me. I groaned loudly, making sure that he would hear and turned swiftly on my heel to face him.

"No" I sneered. Thor always won. I may have more brains than the oaf but I would be foolish to think that I could win in a face to face battle with him.

"Is thou scared, little brother?" He teased, the arrogance obvious as he straightened his chest out.

"No" I replied more firmly, shooting him a glare.

"He is nothing but a little boy Thor, you should not be challenging him" Fandral said mockingly. That got me. The rage got to my head and before I gave any real thought my tongue took action and accepted the challenge.

"Brother, I remember you being better than this" Thor boomed, smacking me to the ground. Again. I staggered up once more, refusing to fall and damage my reputation in front of the gathering on lookers.

"Prince Thor, prince Loki, Odin has requested your presence in the throne room" a guard shouted, stopping Thor mid-swing. I breathed out in relief, relaxing my exterior, thankful to my father for once.

"Let us just finish ou-"

"Immediately" the guard interrupted sharply, quickly turning to the throne room, glancing back telling us to follow. What could be so urgent that he'd command us immediately?

The throne room was empty, only mother and father present along with Thor and I.

"Father" we both said in unison, dropping to one knee and keeping our heads low.

"My sons, I have something important to announce" he says while acknowledging us both, signifying that we can stand.

"Go on father, you have our full attention" Thor says gracefully, nothing but sweetness laced into his voice as his cocky demeanour faltered under fathers gaze.

"As you know I had but one person I consider to be my brother, King Ediran, ruler of Trinistine if you recall. He has a daughter, princess Athera. As of tonight she will be staying in Asgard to learn how we rule the kingdom im preparation for the throne being handed to her" father spoke, clearly he had a soft spot for the girl as affection was clear in his eye.

"And how does this concern us?" I asked, already bored of the conversation.

"It concerns you because it is of upmost importance that you treat her kindly and respectfully for In turn I will send you to Trinistine with her once her visit is over. You have much to learn before either of you can be considered for king." He replied. Great. I have nothing to learn, a trip to Trinistine with an obnoxious princess, my life could not get any worse.
