Once the beams of the sun entering his bedroom through the window hit his eyes, they opened in a shot. He sat up quickly, stretching as he let out a yawn. Soon an excited smile appeared across his face: „It's today!!“ Villiam cheered, swiftly jumping out of his bed. The angel's small wings made of pure light followed behind, flowing through the air as he ran out of his room. But wait- wasn't he in his pyjamas? No, he was not. He slept dressed up and ready, wearing a purple shirt and light brown pants. But why? He rushed downstairs and into the bathroom, washing his face, brushing his blonde hair and rushing out again. He made his way into the kitchen, grabbing some food. Sitting behind the dinning table of his small kitchen, he finished his meal within a few seconds. Just now he looked towards the calendar on the wall. The 1st of January, „THE APPLICATION DAY!!“ At least that was what the calendar said. Villiam grabbed his satchel, put on his shoes and left his little apartment.

He then grabbed his bike, which was parked in front of the apartment building, and soon took off! On his way, he glanced around at all the beautiful buildings, watching other angels flying all over the place as they waved their beautiful wings of light. He seemed to be one of the few who traveled by land. In about a hour he reached his destination: The Grand Central of the Guardians. He parked his outside, entering through the main door. He took a look around as his eyes sparkled, reflecting the light from the majestic chandelier above the centre of the room. He could see angels flying and walking around the place. He made his way forward, the sound of his footsteps losing within the red carpet, leading him to the reception that was in between two staircases.

He went over to the window, an old lady giving him an irritated glance. „Name?“ she asked. „V-Villiam Ortex.“ he replied, a little nervous. „You're here for the applications I see...first floor, room 134.“ „Thank you!“ He thanked the lady as he then quickly went towards the staircase.

He made his way up to the first floor, searching for the said room. After a while of searching, he found it, entering the room. The first to greet him was a waiting room, how unexpected... He wrote his name down onto the waiting list. He was one of the first to arrive. He sat down on a chair beside the few other applicants, taking a few deep breaths as he awaited for his name to be called out with a smile.

.....

„Villiam Ortex.“ read out a serious female voice from inside the office. Villiam stood up from his seat within the waiting room. He took a deep breath before making his way inside, settling down on a chair in front of the lady's desk. She gave him a judging gaze, looking aside at her computer's monitor. „Mr. Ortex, your application says that you are applying for a guardian.“ the lady said. „That is correct! Miss...,“ Villiam took a short glance at the lady's desk, checking for her name before looking back at her: „..Peterson.“ He added with a nervous smile. „I see here that your strength test results are low...you lack the ability of flying...you went to the guardian training with bad marks..“ Mrs. Peterson said. „Yes, but I have many other qualities that–“ „I also see that your IQ tests are very high...you are also very disciplined..“ „Yes..“ „Well then..“ „W-well...? Am I in...?“ Villiam asked in a nervous tone. „Yes, you are.“ the lady said. „Yes!!“ Villiam cheered, jumping up from his seat. Mrs. Peterson gave him an irritated stare, sighing. „Villiam Ortex..it is my honour to welcome you in our lines as a...“
