Rohit, Virat, Raina, Bhuvi, Jaddu all worship Mahi bhai. Because he was their captain when they were young and new and inexperienced. Mahi bhai taught them nearly everything they know about cricket.
Have you ever realized that it follows the kids in our current team must worship their current captain like this too? And they do. And the captain deserves every bit of it, because he's downright amazing.
Virat deserves a lot more credit as captain than he gets. Virat's childishness, passion and loyalty towards his own team goes a long way in endearing him to the kids he captains.
Virat Kohli might not take the correct decision always. He might lose tosses, waste reviews and mess up team selection. But when it comes to the emotional part of being a captain, he passes with full marks.
