The New Clans

CHAPTER 2

It was a nice sunny day, and Nutella was enjoying the warm sunlight. Her warm brown tabby coat was a beautiful contrast against her purplish-burgundy collar. The tip of one of her ears had been torn when she narrowly escaped the dog that lived next door. She flicked her torn ear as she heard another cat coming. She looked to see it was Zaw, coming in from the outside. She guessed he would tell her about what happened later, and drifted into thought.

''And then- Nutella? Nutellaaa? NUTELLA!'' Screeched Zaw, a black tom who had lived with Nutella's house folk longer than her. She jumped a bit as he had spooked her.

"H-huh?! What- what, is something wrong?" She asked, thinking they were being attacked; ''No,'' Said Zaw, ''I was wondering if you were listen to what I was saying about the kits.'' He sighed as if he knew the answer -(She knew he didn't)- and restarted the story.

''And then their father left as I heard hissing-'' He flicked his ear listening for their house folk- ''from whom I assume to be the mother of the kittens.'' He said stretching as he finished the story.

''Eh interesting story but I'm gonna nap.''

''But it's going to rain soon so I suggest you go for a short walk.''

''Nah, I didn't really sleep last night so I think I should nap.''

''Fine, but don't blame me when you wake up with sore joints.'' muttered Zaw as he padded off to eat some food.

Nutella turned to face the window, taking note of the small flashes of lightning within the storm clouds. ''Huh guess he was right. But I really need some sleep.....''

{- Growling at- growling at his kits? But, but why would anyone do that? -} thought Nutella.

She drifted into sleep with many thoughts racing through her head.

(Authors note- used some new writing techniques in the story. Also foreshadowing for the next chapter with the storm? I have no clue. Ok next chapter-)
